Watch: The Polyphonic Spree Share "Popular by Design" Music Video

The Polyphonic Spree have shared the video for their latest single "Popular by Design", off their recently released fourth studio album Yes, It's True, out via Good Records. The song is part of our current playlist. 

Previously the indie psych pop rock supergroup, already unveiled the clips for "You Don't Know Me" and "Let Them Be". 

The animated video, directed by Abandon Building, presents a sort of sci-fi origin story for the frontman of the candy-colored cloak-wearing choir, and depicts DeLaughter's transformation from a globulous conveyor-belt excretion into a happy-looking all-white clone before morphing into his more familiar form in an intergalactic classroom.

Watch: Dinowalrus Release "Grounded" Music Video

Brooklyn-based psychedelic synth-rock band Dinowalrus have released the music video for "Grounded".

The song, produced by produced by Jorge Elbrecht, is a classic tune on www.koolrockradio.com. It was was dropped last year and will feature on the band's upcoming third album.

The follow up to 2012's 'Best Behavior', was mixed by Jorge Elbrecht of Violens and is due out in 2014. 

The video was directed by Emmanuelle Pickett (who also directed the band's excellent video for "What Now") . Watch it below.

Moving Units To Release New Album 'Neurotic Exotic' Next Month

Los Angeles-based indie dance band Moving Units will release their third studio album 'Neurotic Exotic' on September 10 via Metropolis Records. 

The follow up to 2007's Hexes for Exes, marks founder Blake Miller's return after exploring the world as a DJ and collaborating with a myriad of artists. You can pre-order your copy here

There was a sense of urgency in the air spiked with mixed feelings of dread and euphoria. We found comfort in the darkness of night but the energy we shared was intense and inspiring. Ultimately, our hangover angst was soothed by the sunrise that illuminated our gloriously inebriated journey back home."




The Exploding Boy To Release New Album, Share First Single "Dark City (pt.II)" Video

Watch: Soft Swells Share Music Video For "Happier"

Los Angeles-based indie surf-pop band Soft Swells have shared the video for their summery track "Happier", taken from their Lifeboats EP, released last month via Modern Outsider.

The clip was directed by Dylan Marko Bell, and features the band performing the song in a dimly lit warehouse. Watch it below.


The Cribs To Release Two New Albums Next Year

English indie rock band The Cribs have revealed plans to follow up their 2012 album 'In the Belly of the Brazen Bull' by releasing two albums in 2014. 

Just months after claiming that they were on hiatus, the band's singer and bassist, Gary Jarman, told NME, they're working on two separate albums, promising one LP will be "more pop oriented" and the other will be "noisy and visceral and immediate".

"We're gonna try and do two new records, that's the plan. There's one that's going to be really noisy and visceral and immediate, and  one that's gonna be more pop. We've been writing for the past month or so and there’s definitely an idealistic concept of these two records, which has come  from that– [to show] … two separate sides to the band."

Speaking about the release time, Gary added: "In my mind we'll probably be recording by the beginning of next year. Judging by  how we normally work, that's how I see it."

In related news, Ryan Jarman's side project Exclamation Pony, with Here We Go Magic member Jen Turner are set to release their debut double A-side single 'Pseudo Individual/Mazes' on September 23 via on Julian Casablancas' Cult Records.

Watch: Delorean Premiere Music video For "Destitute Time"

Spanish dance-pop band Delorean have premiered the video for their latest single "Destitute Time" (featuring vocals from Cameron Mesirow aka Glasser).

The song is taken from their upcoming fourth album 'Apar', which will be out on September 9th via True Panther Sounds/Mushroom Pillow.

The four-piece recorded the album in their new studio in El Poblenou, on the Mediterranean Sea, and is the follow up to 2010's Subiza LP.

The video was directed by Roger Guàrdia. Watch below.

Watch: Gold Panda Unveils New Video For "Community"

London-born, Berlin-based producer Gold Panda has unveiled the video for his new single "Community" taken from his recently released sophomore album 'Half of Where You Live', out now via Ghostly International (Notwon Recordings in UK).

The 4-minute film was recorded around the headline show at Brixton Electric earlier this year, and was produced by British menswear label Lux & Noah and Scott Ward from WasNotWasFilms.

The Suburbs Release 'Si Sauvage' First New Album in 27 Years

Minneapolis-based New Wave rockers The Suburbs, (especially known for their 1983 hit "Love Is the Law") have just released 'Si Sauvage', their first new album in 27 years and the follow up to their 1986's The Suburbs.

Si Sauvage features founding members Poling, Hugo Klaers, and Blaine John "Beej" Chaney, plus new bandmates Steve Brantseg and Steve Price and special guest vocalists like Janey Winterbauer and Aby Wolf. It was mixed and is in the process of being mastered by Chuck Zwicky (who also worked on the latest Soul Asylum record), and the band plans to put it out on both CD and vinyl.

The 10-track album is available in digital MP3 format to download with a PDF of the CD Booklet including lyrics and credits. Also available as a physical CD, in hot pink vinyl and as individual MP3 tracks for download.

Watch: Still Corners Premier Music Video For "Fireflies"

British indie pop duo Still Corners (aka Tessa Murray and Greg Hughes) have premiered the video for "Fireflies", another cut taken from their sophomore album  'Strange Pleasures', released back in May via Sub Pop Records.

The video, directed by Christian Sorensen Hansen, was filmed in Oregon's Painted Hills, a few hours outside of Portland, and features dreamy escapes with band members Tessa Murray and Greg Hughes heading down the highway on a motorcycle, and also having a relax time in a swimming pool.

Watch: OMD Release Music Video For "Night Café"

OMD have released the video for "Night Café", the third single to be released from their new album 'English Electric', released back in April.

Irish indie rock band The Strypes have unleashed the video for "Mystery Man", the opening track from their upcoming debut album 'Snapshot', which will be released on 9 September through Virgin EMI Records.

A few days ago the band revealed the video for "What A Shame", the album's third single.

Produced by Chris Thomas, the album was recorded in just 15 days in the studio. "You know like The Beatles did on 'Please Please Me? Well, maybe not in a day like they did, but we were going for a week," said drummer Evan Walsh.

Irish indie band Two Door Cinema Club have unveiled the video for their new single "Changing Of The Seasons", taken from their upcoming EP of the sane name, which will be released on September 30 via Parlophone.

Suede To Release Vinyl Box Set Of Albums And B-Sides

Suede are set to reissue all six of their studio albums as part of an upcoming vinyl limited edition box set, along with 1997's B-sides compilation Sci-Fi Lullabies.

Entitled 'The Vinyl Collection', will be out on October 21, through Demon Music the same day as the band release "For The Strangers", their third single from this year's critically acclaimed album Bloodsports.

The band will also be on tour across the UK this autumn, starting at Southampton’s Guildhall on 22 October. [via The Quietus]

Watch: His Clancyness Releases "Zenith Diamond" Music Video

Bologna-based musician His Clancyness (aka Jonathan Clancy, frontman of A Classic Education) has released the video clip for "Zenith Diamond", taken from his forthcoming album 'Vicious', which will be out on October 7th UK via Fat Cat Records, October 8th US. 

The film was shot in the heart of Bologna in the Arena Orfeonica, a true special and magical place, and was directed by Pietro Borzì ( Less tv) and our Giulia Mazza. About the video Clancy says, he wanted the clip to capture the more blurry moments following a night of drinking, when you've lost track of time and space and entered the dream. 

The track is about “feeling special even if you’ve been knocked down, you’re still a diamond in the rough and deserve a dream. Zenith’ is the nervous baby of the album, a fast lone wolf that doesn't have a chance to breathe.”

For this new clip, songwriter/producer George Clanton and drummer Doug Sexton, have picked a black dog as the star, and he/she seems to be enjoying the track.

Sydney-based dark edge three-piece The Dark Shadows have shared the video for their version of Swiss cult wave band, Grauzone's hit "Eisbär" (Ice Bear).

!!! (Chk Chk Chk) have unveiled the video for "Californiyeah", another cut taken from their new album 'THR!!!ER', released back in April via Warp.

The video was filmed on the streets of Japan, in a hotel elevator and onstage. Frontman Nic Offer explains: "The clip was shot in an hour or so by our sound guy Jamie Harley, we rode the glass elevator in our Tokyo hotel singing along to our new hit 'Californiyeah' 'til we were busted by the authorities, Eighties-video style. Those are 100 percent real Japanese hotel rent-a-pigs busting [guitarist] Mario [Andreoni] . . . like our own little episode of Bad Boys. We couldn't believe our luck. Pure video magic."

Single of the Week August 26/2013: Risk Risk "Heartbeat"

This week's Single of the Week on koolrockradio.com is "Heartbeat", another great cut by German minimal synth-pop project Risk Risk (aka our good friend Stefan K.).

Heartbeat is actually a lost track that was NOT on Risk Risk great debut album 'This is 1983', but it was intended to, and just as all the tracks from that album,  it's a brilliant 80s synth oriented tune.

Risk Risk's new album is almost finished, and Stefan is currently looking for a new label to release it. We'll keep you posted as more details on the record surface.

The video, directed and edited by Brendhan Bowers, was shot on 16mm colour negative film thru WA, OR, and CA state, and features the band embarking on a sun-soaked journey down the West Coast where they encounter a hitchhiker that turns out to be a road-demon in disguise.

Watch: Pearl Jam Unveil "Mind Your Manners" Music Video

Pearl Jam have unveiled the video for "Mind Your Manners", the first single taken from their forthcoming tenth studio record 'Lightning Bolt', out on October 15.

The video was directed by famed rock photographer Danny Clinch, and features the band rocking out in front of a screen filled with partially animated scenes of violence and mass devastation (hurricane footage, bombs, gunfire, oil spills) as frontman Eddie Vedder bites into lines like, "tried my patience / my patience tried."

Nine Inch Nails Reveal Hesitation Marks New Track "Find My Way"

Nine Inch Nails have revealed another new track from the forthcoming album 'Hesitation Marks', this time is "Find My Way".

The album was announced with the premiere of its debut single "Came Back Haunted" this June, followed by the release of "Copy of A" last week, and most recently revealed the track "Everything."

'Hesitation Marks' will be out on September 3 via Columbia Records.

Deep Sea Arcade Release New Single "Black Cat"

Australian indie band Deep Sea Arcade have just released their brand new single titled "Black Cat", out now through Chugg/MGM. 

It is the band's first new material since 2012's debut album Outlands, and is another ringing guitar-pop dispatch from the five boys, with singer Nic McKenzie staying airy and unruffled over the psych-washed backdrop. The song has been added to our current playlist.

The band have spent most of the last year living in the UK, and writing their second album which was recorded and mixed by Dan Grech-Margueray (The Vaccines...). The album will be out early next year, and "Black Cat" serves as the lead single.

Nine Inch Nails Unveil New Track Titled "Everything"

Nine Inch Nails have premiered "Everything", another cut from their upcoming eighth album Hesitation Marks, which will be out on September 3rd via Columbia. The song will be officially release tomorrow.

So far, we've heard “Came Back Haunted” and “Copy of A”, and now is the turn for his new single "Everything", surprisingly, it's quite a departure from the music Nine Inch Nails has released in the past. It's definitely different from what we're used to hearing from Trent Reznor...

London-based indie rock band Spector have released the video clip for a brand new single titled "Decade of Decay", which is one half of a new 7" they'll be putting out soon. 

The song, written and produced by Dev Hynes and Fred Macpherson, is the band's first new material since their 2012's debut Enjoy it While it Lasts, and features wiry guitars, dreamy pads and lyrics about decade-long luckless love.

Watch: Spiritualized Unveil New Video For "I Am What I Am"

British space-rock band Spiritualized have unveiled the video for "I Am What I Am", taken from their 2012 album 'Sweet Heart Sweet Light', out via Fat Possum.

Directed by by AG Rojas and starring the youngest Culkin brother, Rory, the clip follows the depressed-looking Culkin around a bunch of bleak scenes in a small California town.

Watch: The Vaccines Share "Melody Calling" Music Video

British indie rock band The Vaccines have shared the video for "Melody Calling", the title-track from their recently released new EP.

The song is part of our current playlist www.koolrockradio.com and was recorded at El Dorado Studios in L.A. with producers John Hill (M.I.A, Santigold) and Rich Costey (Muse, Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys).

London-based drug pop band Death By Sexy have unveiled the video for their second single "Burning Like A Fever", which will be out on September 2nd 2013 on 7" vinyl and digital download.

Produced by Jon Moon at Sensible Studios London, the song will featured in the forthcoming movie 'The Powder Room' starring Jaime Winstone, Oona Chaplin, Kate Nash and Sheridan Smith.

The video was shot at Aces & Eights in Tufnell Park London by Mike 'Tempo' Tempest and edited by Marc Coker. Watch it below.

Two Door Cinema Club Reveal New EP 'Changing of the Seasons' Details

A week ago, Two Door Cinema Club announced they will release a new EP, now they have revealed more details and as a follow-up announcement the band have also revealed a 02 Arena show. 

Titled  'Changing Of The Seasons' will feature three brand new tracks and will be released on September 30 via Parlophone. The EP's title-track has been produced by cult electronic artist Madeon.

The band have also announced plans for a headline show at The O2 later this year, they will play the 20,000 capacity venue in London on December 13 in support of their upcoming EP.

I want to know how many gigs we have done to get here," guitarist Sam Halliday said of their O2 date. "We have been quite lucky to build our following in the right way - the pub shows, then the theatre shows, then the warehouse shows. 

"It feels like a huge achievement. It is the thing we have been working very hard towards for a long time, but at the same time we feel confident and ready that we are experienced enough and have got enough fans and enough songs and enough records behind us to headline The O2. It will be the biggest moment of our career so far!"

Watch: Conics Reveal New Video For "This Moment"

Sydney indie dance band Conics have revealed the video for "This Moment", the opening track on their debut EP Faces, out now.

After years of jamming in High School the vibrant group formed in 2011 and impressed music fanatics with previous singles "Habitats" and "Far Away", which were both played on Kool Rock Radio. They also had the privilege to support major acts like; Flume, Goldfields and Rufus.

The 5-track EP, was recorded at Elektrasound studios by Luke Bertoz., grab a copy of the Faces EP now on iTunes.

Watch: Outfit Premiere Music Video For "House on Fire"

Liverpool's psych pop quintet Outfit have premiered the video clip for "House on Fire", off their just released debut album 'Performance', out now via Double Denim.

The song is part of our current playlist www.koolrockradio.com and will be released as a single on August 26.

Outfit realise the weirdness of using the sudden and fast destruction of somebody's cherished home as a metaphor for two people getting along rather nicely, and set a chorus of "we get on like a house on fire" against a narrative of a relationship breakdown.

Toronto-based indie rock band Weaves have released the video for their excellent self-produced single "Motorcycle", out now through Buzz Records.

Motorcycle' uses frontwoman Jasmyn Burke's writing skills and combines them with Morgan Waters' production and guitar lines, creating their own form of indie-punk.
