New Entry: LIFE Unleash New Single "Almost Home"

British indie rock/pop band Life have unleashed their new single "Almost Home".

The song is taken from their upcoming new album ‘North East Coastal Town’, which will be out 10 June. Pre-order it here

North East Coastal Town is a love letter to the city. The album is an ode to kinship and relationship with its musical and lyrical spine picking out themes of love, desire, beauty, horror, chaos, pride and most importantly the sense of belonging.

“Almost Home barks, jolts, jerks and spits with the theme of pining to be home and thus chimes with North East Coastal Town’s over-riding sense of belonging. ‘Taste the difference…feel significant…hold a lifeline, you’re almost home!’” Mez Green says. “Almost Home is a song that wrestles with ego and love, with love winning; Recipe, I ain’t a cult recipe.”

Death Bells Announce New LP 'Between Here & Everywhere', Stream "Lifespring"

Los Angeles-via-Sydney dream pop/post-punk band Death Bells have announced the release of their third studio album 'Between Here & Everywhere'.

The 9-track album "captures the cross-section of Southern California’s shadowy hidden interzones, outside of the lights and luxury," and will be out on July 29 via Dais Records. Pre-order your copy here.

The new songs represent Will Canning and Remy Veselis’ continual growth, as well as accompaniment by an experienced cast of contributors on keys, strings, piano, and operatic backup vocals. Philadelphia power pop/punk/alt band Grocer have shared the video for their new single "Calling Out".

The song is taken from their forthcoming sophomore album 'Numbers Game', out May 6 on Grind Select. Pre-order it here.

Featuring three distinct vocalists/lyricists, Grocer is a band that grooves, but never quite settles; a group that loves a good melody, yet remains moments away from chaos. Recently described as “if The Pixies wrote a musical”, their on-stage chemistry is undeniable whether ripping through an Audiotree session or playing in their home city of Philadelphia.

Watch: The Stroppies Air New Single/Video "Smilers Strange Politely"

Melbourne indie pop/jangle-pop band The Stroppies have aired the video for their new single "Smilers Strange Politely".

The song is taken from their upcoming sophomore album ‘Levity’, out May 6th via Tough Love Records. Pre-order your copy here.

The vocal trade-off between bassist Claudia Serfaty and guitarist/keyboardist Gus Lord has been a constant across those records, earworm merchants with a knack for a canny phrase and a wink of the eye, a winning trait alive and well across these ten tracks. Where the most notable shift has occurred is in the muscularity of the songs, a little more motorik steel to what are ostensibly sideways spun pop songs, an infectious amalgam of Slates-era Fall, Chris Knox wonky melodicism and XTC archness. Sideways, sometimes, all of the time, as someone once opined...

Hot Chip Announce New LP 'Freakout/Release', Stream "Down"

London electronic/dance band Hot Chip have announced the release of their new studio album 'Freakout/Release'.

The follow-up to 2020's album 'A Bath Full Of Ecstasy', will be out on 19 August 2022 via Domino Rwcords. Pre-order your copy here.

Freakout/Release is another dizzying high in a multi-decade career that’s seen Hot Chip continuing to innovate and develop a rich, resonant songcraft. And while they continue to operate at peak form, the album also feels like a new chapter for the group—a collection of flesh-and-blood songs that finds the band reaching into the darkness to emerge as a true creative unit, their gazes fixed positively on the future ahead.

“We were living through a period where it was very easy to feel like people were losing control of their lives in different ways,” Joe Goddard explains of the album’s themes. “There’s a darkness that runs through a lot of those tracks.”
