New Entry: Whimsical Reveal New Single "Gravity"

Indiana shoegaze/dream pop band Whimsical have released the video for their latest single "Gravity".

The song is taken from the 7" 'Gravity' b/w "Float", will be out on June 4th via Shelflife Records. Pre-order it here.

Band member Neil Burkdoll explains: "“Gravity” was actually supposed to be on our last album, Bright Smiles & Broken Hearts, but I couldn't find a way to finish it in time. In the end, I ended up erasing everything I had previously recorded and started over again. I had already purchased some new musical gear and felt that it had updated our sound. Although I don't think anyone would notice the influence, my initial idea for the song was to write something with the energy of “The Baby Screams” by The Cure. Of course “Gravity” sounds nothing like “The Baby Screams”, but that was the original inspiration for picking-up my acoustic and starting a new song."

Watch: Bnny Unveil New Single/Video "Time Walk"

Chicago-based indie/alt band Bnny, led by Jess Viscius alongside her twin sister Alexa Viscius, plus best friends Tim Makowski and Matt Pelkey have unveiled the video for their new single "Time Walk".

The song, produced by fellow Chicago musician and Fire Talk artist, Dehd’s Jason Balla, is out today (May 6) through Fire Talk Records. Grab it here.

'Time Walk', is a taste of Bnny’s crackling energy, clocking in at just over a minute and a half. It layers in quick succession with plucky bass, uncomplicated drums, and jumpy guitar lines. Throughout, Viscius’ half-whispered vocals are cool to the touch.

“‘Time Walk’ is about the clarity you find when in motion—walking, driving, running,” says Jess. “It’s about a friendship ending, but still feeling connected to the person. It’s about looking back while moving forward in slow motion. Time walk is a wake-up call.”

The video, which features Jess, was partly shot on the Lake Michigan coastline. It offers a glimpse of Bnny’s strong visual aesthetics.

New Entry: Pleasure Centre Share New Single "Blue(Bertha)"

Scarborough,North Yorkshire dreampop/shoegaze band Pleasure Centre have shared their new single "Blue(Bertha)".

Speaking about it, the band said: "'Bertha' is about our friend’s car, it’s a little blue Ford Fiesta that we drove about North Yorkshire to go to friends’ houses or parties and everything in between.

Charlie came up with the guitar riff and some sort of chord progression and then Aneela fitted some lyrics. Then Charlie made a demo and the whole band started adding to that then we took it to Young Thugs in York and did it properly.

Honestly, the topic came from another band ‘The Chalets’ which Charlie is a part of and we thought every band should write a song about this car as it’s really the object that supported our happiness last year when the world seemed to stop.

It is a song we feel is heading in our own direction finally after a year of trying to make original music and expresses part of us and the topics we want to get out through our music."
