The song is taken from their upcoming six-track EP 'Still Life', which will be available on December 10 via Mt.St.Mtn. Pre-order your copy here.

“The songs on Still Life and Lane Lines seem to straddle the line between indie and pop without exactly being ‘indie pop,’” vocalist/guitarist Andrew Romano says. “To me they feel more like descendants of ‘college rock’ — a moment that lasted from about 1986 to 1991, right before the underground and the mainstream converged, when it seemed like any scrappy indie band might stumble across a hit.”

Watch: Buffet Lunch Unleash New Single/Video "Cheeks"

Scottish post punk/indie rock band Buffet Lunch have unleashed the video for their new single "Cheeks".

The new 7" single '‘Cheeks / Mild Weather’', which will be available on mid-November through Upset The Rhythm. Pre-order your copy here.

This single is very loosely influenced by the collective experience of the pandemic, adding to the already exhausted canon of cultural Covid artefacts. The A side ‘Cheeks’ is concerned with the inside, whilst the outside is very much catered for by ‘Mild Weather’ on side B.

‘Cheeks’ is centred around the sub-bass of an old Italian organ and the honking sax of Iain McCall, telling the tale of a squashed individual. The over-zealous approach to layers hopefully adding to the feeling of claustrophobia and mundane delirium. If ‘Cheeks’ is the wind up, ‘Mild Weather’ is the release.

‘Mild Weather’ is an ode to the desire to spend a week in the sun. It’s also about enjoying that prize to the full and then returning back to the slog. Jayne Dent (of Me Lost Me) lends her exquisite vocal here providing the centre-point to a Casio-led symphony, with acoustic and electronic drums fighting for attention throughout.

From the duo: "We have a new song out today. It’s called Your Guiding Hand and it’s a song about life and death in the English rain. Sometimes friends go missing along the way. But in moments like those you shared with them - parties, funfairs, night drives - sometimes the memory of them swims around you so vividly it’s like they’ve come back. It’s meant as a song and a seance for all your fallen rave soldiers. And a promise on my behalf to live life guided by their questing spirit and memory."

Watch: Gathering of Strangers Premiere New Single/Video "Cherry Red"

Manchester indie rock band/alt Gathering of Strangers have premiered the video for their new single "Cherry Red".

The song is part of our current playlist and is out now through Inter Music. Get it here.

As the band’s frontman Conor Rabone says: “”Cherry Red” is a tale of your love/hate relationship with fear. His charm gets you in the bedroom but her power chains you to the bed. It’s then up to you whether that’s something you want to escape from or not”.

As ecstatic 80s-piqued synthesisers duel with reverb-tinged guitars and loping basslines, it’s a nocturnal indie-rock anthem that dances through light and shade; destined to lodge itself in your consciousness for some time.

Epic and enigmatic in equal parts, “Cherry Red” fuses the impassioned anthemia of White Lies with the heart-on-sleeve hooks of The Killers; capturing the five-piece’s grand ambitions with a single that shoots straight for the big time.

Watch: The Blinders Drop New Single/Video "City We Call Love"

Manchester-based alt-rock trio The Blinders have dropped the video for their new single "City We Call Love".

The band will release their new EP 'Electric Kool-Aid (Part 1)' on January 14th.

Speaking about the track, vocalist and guitarist Thomas Haywood said: “Love is an enormous feeling, and something I now know I’d never felt up until this point. The music tries to match the weight of that whilst holding its hand with the lyrics. I think both love and a city share the same intricacies and feelings of vastness when you’re in the centre of them, so I guess that’s why I chose to go with that. The band’s got a little more meat on its bones too. There are five of us now instead of three. It's probably the best decision we've ever made.”
