Vancouver, BC indie pop band The Zolas have dropped their new single "Wreck Beach/Totem Park".
The song is out now through Light Organ Records. Buy it here.
From the band: "Wreck Beach is the sunset spot beside my university, the University of British Columbia, and Totem Park is the name of the student residence my friends and I partied at in undergrad."
"Wreck Beach/Totem Park" is about living my whole life beside the Musqueam reserve, never being taught nor thinking to ask why they live quietly in a small corner of a land that used to be all theirs. In the last five to ten years, like most people, I started hearing a lot of voices about our country's history from an Indigenous point of view.
The clear unfairness of it all really pulled back the curtain on the glossed-over, white-lie version we were given in Grade 10 social studies class."
London's neo-psych band Temples have unveiled their new single "Paraphernalia".
The song, produced by Sean Ono Lennon, is out now via ATO Records. Get it here.
Speaking of the inspiration behind the track, Temples’ lead singer James Bagshaw says: “In an age of constant distraction, we all strive to find focus and a sense of calm. Paraphernalia questions the depth of ‘real’ connections in a digital world.”

Myrtle Beach, SC rock/melodic hardcore band Hundredth have announced the release of their new studio album 'Somewhere Nowhere'.
The follow-up to 2017’s Rare will be out on October 9, including their brand new single "Bottle It Up". Pre-order your copy here.
Taking a more synth-pop approach and playing with electronic elements, Hundredth have laid down their arms, choosing lighter sonic landscapes. Vocalist Chadwick Johnson worked with the revered Sam Pura in San Francisco and used isolation as a way to become immersed in this new sound. “It’s always been about where we are right now—what we want to hear, what’s inspiring in the moment,” he explained in a press statement. “We’re always growing and changing as people, so it makes sense that the music does too.”
