Editors Announce New LP 'EBM', Stream "Karma Climb"

British indie rockers Editors have announced the release of their seventh studio album 'EBM'.

The follow-up to 2018’s Violence, sees the band swell to a six piece outfit, with new member Benjamin John Power – better known as Blanck Mass – joining as a full time member last month. It will be out on September 23 via Play It Again Sam. Pre-order your copy here.

“There is a strong physicality to this record,” Power says of EBM. “EBM started its life with the intention of connecting with people and filling a very physical space. There is also however an emotional physicality running throughout; An urgency and a sense of panic. An unease. Even in its more tender moments there is a yearning for connection.”

“Ben has certainly been a shot of adrenaline in our creative process,” frontman Tom Smith adds of working with Power. “The songs are so immediate, and in your face.” He also says of “Karma Climb,”: “It’s about hedonistic escapism, not only from the world generally, but also from what people think of you.”

About the new single "Karma Climb" Tom states: “It’s about hedonistic escapism, not only from the world generally, but also from what people think of you.”

Pixies Announce New LP 'Doggerel', Stream "There's A Moon On"

Boston alt rockers Pixies have announced the release of their eighth studio album 'Doggerel'.

The band' seventh full-length and follow-up to 2019's Beneath the Eyrie,  will be out on September 30 via BMG. Pre-order your copy here.

‘Doggerel’ is a mature yet visceral record of gruesome folk, ballroom pop and brutal rock, haunted by the ghosts of affairs and indulgences, driven wild by cosmic forces and envisioning digital afterlives where no God has provided one. And all the while, right there on the news, another distant storm approaches.

Guitarist Joey Santiago says, “This time around we have grown. We no longer have under two-minute songs. We have little breaks, more conventional arrangements but still our twists in there.”

Vocalist/guitarist Black Francis adds,  “We're trying to do things that are very big and bold and orchestrated. The punky stuff, I really like playing it but you just cannot artificially create that shit. There's another way to do this, there's other things we can do with this extra special energy that we're encountering.”
