New Entry: Fuzzy Sun Unleash New Single "Morning Light"

Stockport psych pop-rock band Fuzzy Sun have unleashed their new single "Morning Light".

The song is taken from their forthcoming new EP 'Since The Dog Died' will be out in November. Buy it here.

Speaking about it, vocalist/guitarist Kyle Ross says: “Similarly to fake it and the whole EP, Morning Light follows a very similar narrative and thematic arc. It was the first tune we wrote out of this new bank of material."

“I suppose it's about feeling lost and at the same time losing a part of yourself whilst trying to figure a way out of your own mental labyrinth. I felt like I'd been trapped in a David Lynch scene and that’s what inspired the tune in the first place.”

“We wanted to make an impact,” he comments on making a pivot towards a neo-classic guitar sound, “pushing a new creative direction for the band, as I think we have really found a sound that excites us and we feel comfortable with.” He added.

New Entry: Johnny Hunter Unveil New Single "Life"

Australian post punk/alt band Johnny Hunter have unveiled their new single "Life".

The song, produced by Adam Greenspan (IDLES, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs), and Jack Moffitt (The Preatures) is out now through Cooking Vinyl Australia. Get it here.

Behind 'Life': "To find life is to find happiness, it is the ultimate end and purpose of our existence. Life is not found in the darkness of the night, nor is it found in selfish ideals. It lies in the balance of the new day and how we approach our imperfections to bring balance to ourselves. The answer to the floor, an ultimatum proposed to the self, to change or die, to sink or swim. The sun is shining, it's time for a change, appreciate what you have, know who you are and lose yourself in Life".

Watch: TRAITRS Premiere New Single/Video "Mouth Poisons"

Canadian post punk/darkwave duo TRAITRS have premiered the video for their new single "Mouth Poisons".

The song is taken from their forthcoming new album 'Horses In The Abattoir', which will be available on November 19 through Berlin-based label Freakwave Records. Pre-order your copy here.

“The core sketch of this song was written late at night at a very good friend’s place in Frankfurt, Germany. ‘Mouth Poisons’ is an extremely personal song and lyrically I set myself up as the main target. It carries an air of ‘come see what’s going inside of me that wants to burn down everything in sight’. Definitely my favourite single we have ever released to date," says Shawn Tucker.

“‘Mouth Poisons’ was initially supposed to be a fast, angular punk track and it remained in this form for several months until Shawn wrote the bass guitar part and completely changed the way I heard the song. His melodic bass line brought out a sadness and vulnerability in the track that I didn’t know was there. All of a sudden this frantic punk song sounded more like The Smiths or New Order, so I completely rewrote my synth part to tease out those elements even more. The break before the outro is one of my favourite parts on the album," says Sean-Patrick Nolan.

New Entry: Semihelix Reveal New Single "Will It Take"

Austin, TX dream pop/psych pop band Semihelix have revealed their new single "Will It Take".

The song, produced and mixed by Matt Gerhard (Spoon, Future Islands) and mastered by Max Lorezen (Spoon, Shearwater), is taken from their upcoming new album 'Recoil', which will be available on October 1st through Mariel Records. Get it here.

“This song is about overcoming hard times, and even when things seem hopeless they do get better in time. As an optimist, vocalist Geannie Friedman wrote this song when feeling a lot of depression, and people close were also going through rough times. She speaks about bouncing back, and also taking the time to heal while in the process of resiliency. Even when moving forwards, things have the tendency to knock us down. She speaks about the importance of getting back up, and continuing to move forward. We are our own best advocates, and she speaks about this in this song, as well as uplifting others. It’s especially important that when we get back up, we take along our close friends with us. When they succeed, I succeed, We all grow together. No going backwards, only forwards. When it comes to depression, Geannie has had episodes of deep depression, but pulls herself back up again and again. “What will it take to make you happy again?” is a note to self, what will it take? It’s a work in progress.”

Low Life Announce New LP 'From squats to lots: The Agony & XTC of Low Life’, Stream "Agony And XTC"

Sydney, Australia-based rock/dream punk band Low Life band have announced the release of their third studio album 'From Squats To Lots: The Agony And XTC Of Low Life'.

The the follow-up to 2019's album Downer Edn, which will be available on out November 5th through Alter Records. Pre-order your copy here.

From Squats to Lots: The Agony and the XTC of Low Life is more like their second album Downer Edn (read Edition), a little more withdrawn, a little more textured. Complex. Rich. Which is to say: you’re going to need some time with it.

There is a celebration of resilience and that’s a central theme of this record and a time like ours needs a record like Agony & XTC. Low times are coming through, but if you’re low they won’t get to you. Iggy Pop’s Bowie produced studio rock masterpieces ‘The Idiot’ and ‘Lust For Life’ are important reference points to the 3rd album sounds of Low Life.

‘The Agony and Ecstasy’ is a 1985 novel by Irving Stone about the life of Italian Renaissance painter Michelangelo. Stone wrote another novel about the single eared painter Vincent Van Gogh called ‘Lust For Life’.
