Watch: Lea Porcelain Air Music Video For "Gotta Run"

Berlin’s post-punk duo Lea Porcelain (aka Julien Brecht and Markus Nikolaus) have aired the video for their newest single "Gotta Run".

The song is part of our current playlist and is taken from their upcoming new EP due this April. Buy the single here.

About the track, the band said: “ This has been one of our favourite tracks to play live. The song is an energetic fusion that holds the balance between light and shadow. It makes you feel simultaneously strong and reverent”.

And about the clip they said: "The video shows a priest who visibly struggles with himself and with the life that he has chosen, in search of something that he enjoys, in the dreary everyday life. And when he searches for truth, he starts to dance. And he feels he sacrifices himself for something he now doubts, whether it exists, in which he tries to feel himself again and to exist himself.”

Hibou Announces New Album 'Something Familiar', Airs "Fall Into" Video

Seattle indie pop/jangle pop artist Peter Michel aka Hibou has announced the release of his sophomore album titled 'Something Familiar'.

The follow-up to his 2015 self-titled debut, was recorded with a full-band at Chris Walla’s Hall of Justice recording studio, and will be out on March 2 via Barsuk Records.

While most of the material on Hibou was recorded while Michel was still a teenager, there’s a newfound sense of maturity on this new release. And with getting older comes new worries to cope with. As such, Something Familiar finds Michel coping with anxiety and depersonalization. Michel elaborates in a press statement:

“Anxiety is an incredibly strange thing, and everyone has different forms of it. I think that songwriting was a really necessary way for me to try to express that, because people would always ask about it: What does it feel like? Describe it. I’d never be able to put it into words. It was such a relief when I began to experiment and communicate the effects of my anxiety with textures and poetry, rather than conversations.”

ACTORS Announce Debut Album 'It Will Come To You'

Canadian cold wave/post-punk/synth pop band Actors have announced they will release their debut full-length album  'It Will Come To You', on March 9 via Artoffact Records.

The term "post-punk", like many terms with a similar prefix, is firmly planted in a time in history, and signifies an added precision and experimentation to a thrilling genre that has echoed forward in both style and attitude. The Jason Corbett-led outfit ACTORS are standing on the shoulders of titans with their brand of the style, and could almost be referred to as "post-post-punk". In a period where we narrowcast rather than broadcast so fans and new music-seekers can firmly plant themselves in a niche, Corbett takes swings at creating sounds and production techniques that one would not usually find in a starter package of cliché plugins and samples.

Pressed on delicious green wax and including a branded, collectable download card, the initial, first pressing is limited to 400 units worldwide, and the album is also available in a CD digipak or digital download.

"The band’s synth-heavy postwave will make you wish you’d spent the early ’80s living in a postwar Berlin flat right above the prototype for David Lynch’s fabled Club Silencio."

Of Montreal Announce New LP 'White Is Relic/Irrealis Mood', Stream "Paranoiac Intervals/Body Dysmorphia"

Athens, Georgia psych pop band Of Montreal have announced their new album titled 'White Is Relic/Irrealis Mood'.

The follow-up to 2016's Innocence Reaches and 2017's Rune Husk EP, will be released on March 9th via Polyvinyl Record Company.

About the record, band member Kevin Barnes, explained: Two important events occurred during the making of White Is Relic/Irrealis Mood. I became "Simulated Reality" paranoid and I fell in LOVE. Well a lot more happened during the process of writing and recording, but those are the two big ones. I also reached a healthy point of self-forgiveness for my failed marriage and became deeply educated in the lies of America the Great.

I feel like a switch was recently turned on in my brain and now I'm beginning to see through the lies that have been fed to me my whole life by the masters of media and by those who control and manipulate the narrative of our cultural identity and social order.

My paranoia began during the presidential election cycle and reached a dangerous peak shortly after the inauguration. In the meantime I watched and read countless works of art in a mad effort to be reminded of how many truly brilliant people there are living/struggling among us and to try to maintain a positive outlook. The works of Angela Davis, Noam Chomsky, Chris Kraus, Ta-Nehisi Coates, and the Autobiographies of Malcolm X and Mark E Smith were all great inspirations, to name a few.

Musically, I was very inspired by the extended dance mixes that people used to make for pop singles back in the ‘80s. It's so cool how a lot of the 80's hits had these really intricate and interesting longer versions that wouldn't get played on the radio and could only be heard in the clubs. I used that template with these tracks, I wanted them all to feel like the extended "club edit" of album tracks.

I'm always searching for new identities so this concept of the death of "Whiteness" appeals to me greatly. Might be the only way to save the world."

The band have also shared its first single, "Paranoiac Intervals/Body Dysmorphia."
