New Entry: Revolution Above Disorder Reveals New Single "Annihilator"

Vancouver-based Dubliner Stephen Nicholas White a.k.a. Stevie Moonboots (The Orange Kyte/House of Dolls/The Subterranean Satellite Band/Magic Shoppe) post punk/psych/electronic solo project Revolution Above Disorder has revealed his new single "Annihilator".

The song, produced by ACTORS' Jason Corbett, is out today (May 25) backed with remixes from Jagz Kooner (Primal Scream, Oasis, The Charlatans, Massive Attack) and Noise Baby (AKA Colm Rutledge, ex-Humanzi). Get it here.

Recorded during the height of the paranoid and chaotic days of the Covid-19 pandemic, it explores the themes of dissatisfaction, disillusion, nihilism and self-destruction - quite fitting for the times.

Watch: Baudelaire Air Music Video For "Lethe"

British alternative/indie rock band Baudelaire have aired the video for their newest single "Lethe".

The song is part of our current playlist and came out on May 13, it is the follow-up to their debut single "Prayers". Grab it here.

Produced by Gavin Monaghan, ‘Lethe’ starts with a mere drum machine, yet it is only a matter of seconds before the industrial ‘wall of sound’ is unleashed from the tracks dark synthesised underbelly. Adding layers of cathartic guitars, Stephen Morris-esc drumming and an iconic bass riff to top it all off. Right from the offset the track has a clear, fresh feel to it – a dissociation from the ‘punk-by-numbers’ approach that many groups seem to take in the modern day. The dance-y element of the track works especially well as ‘Lethe’ seems to have blended the greatest aspects of dark, minimalist synthesised music and the wonders of gloomy post punk into a beautiful array of gritty guitar music.

Watch: Chappaqua Wrestling Share New Single/Video "Full Round Table"

London via Manchester indie/alt band Chappaqua Wrestling have shared the video for their new single "Full Round Table".

The song is out today (May 25) and is the band's first single of 2022 and their first for new label EMI. Grab it here.

UPDATE 30/05/2021: "Full Round Table" is our new Single of the Week!

Talking about it, the band said: "We wrote Full Round Table as a reaction to the endless negativity put in our faces about our generation’s future. So much news is greeted with the response of how screwed we are - hopeless views from unhelpful people. Negativity about youth is relative per generation but today it feels stronger. We want to ignore the cynicism, get together, appreciate what really matters, and not let people tell us what we can't do. The Full Round Table is full of our friends, and that’s not changing."

Courting Announce Debut LP 'Guitar Music', Stream "Loaded"

Liverpool post punk band Courting have announced their highly-anticipated debut album 'Guitar Music'.

The 8-track album was produced by double GRAMMY-nominated producer James Dring (Gorillaz, Jamie T, Sorry, Lana Del Rey, Blur, Loyle Carner), and will be out on 23rd September via Play It Again Sam. Pre-order your copy here.

The news comes alongside new single "Loaded", speaking about it, frontman Sean Murphy-O’Neill explains: “In ‘Loaded’ we tie together a lot of ideas about change, and stagnation. It is inspired heavily by pop music, specifically artists like SOPHIE. It is us just throwing everything at the wall and trying to create something fun and ridiculous.”

Going on to speak on the album Murphy-O’Neill says: “Guitar Music is the opposite of our early releases in that it is very emotional. The stories told may be from the perspective of other characters at times, but these songs are always filled with actual feelings. We're no longer trying to hide that.

We felt that Guitar Music as a phrase was reductive and therefore decided to create a record with the intention of it being a body of work that could redeem being a “guitar band”, by pushing it to different boundaries. To us, this record is a statement piece, it felt very exciting to make, to us, it feels a lot more special than we’d originally expected it would be.”

Guitar Music is realising you actually love the music you hated when you were 13. It is lip fillers and being thousands of pounds in debt. It is missing mundane things about your childhood and mourning celebrities you were only aware of posthumously. It is dancing with your friends. It is falling in love with a drawing and it is always online. It is touching toes in bed, hearts carved into trees. It is swimming outside and listening to pop smoke. It is fireworks over family parks and

The song is taken from their forthcoming third studio album 'Down Tools', set to arrive on July 8 via Memphis Industries. Pre-order your copy here.

"Northern Safari" – which arrives packed with fidgety guitar riffs and signposts some of the band's most accessible slacker-punk sounds to date – arrives as a song about the way the North of England has been portrayed in the media and is used as a mirror to reflect some of the nastier elements of what’s going on in society. Speaking about the single, Hyndman of the band says: "It’s about the time we all went to the tropical world together to see the meerkats. Down Tools out soon, thanks for all your support so far!"

Wstch: Ganser Unleash New Single/Video "People Watching"

Chicago art rock/no wave/post punk/alt band Ganser have unleashed the video for their brand new single "People Watching".

The track is taken from their forthcoming EP ‘Nothing You Do Matters’ produced by Liars' Angus Andrew, set to arrive on October 5th via Felte Records. Pre-order your copy here.

“People Watching” is almost a mini-suite of a jam, which first kicks in your door and then lulls you with what feels like comfort, before tearing your place apart on the way out. It’s a thrasher of a tune that is more deliberate than breathless, picking its spots to twist the lyrical knife of talk until the words lose meaning, which circle the drain of the song repeatedly, until it has evicted you, or you have evicted it.

Nothing You Do Matters tracklist:
1. People Watching
2. What Me Worry
3. People Watching (Liars Remix)
