New Entry: Strange Cages Release New Single "Desert"

Brighton based psych/garage/punk three piece Strange Cages have released their new single "Desert".

The band say they are influenced by a lot of 60s and post-punk, naming The 13th Floor Elevators, The Stooges and Television as some good examples. This is evident in the grittiness of  "Desert", underlined by repetitive, slow-building guitar riffs, reminiscent of Television's "Friction".

In their words: "We love music that's primal and menacing, anything twisted with a touch of evil."

New Entry: Many Things Unveil New Single "Holy Fire"

London-based indie trio Many Things have unveiled their excellent new single "Holy Fire".

The song has electrifying blaze of disco beats and will be released on 20th April on Dew Process/Universal. It is the first single to be taken from their forthcoming debut album 'Burn Together' due this summer.

About the track, which was inspired by Jon Hopkins’ notion of envisioning mixes as 3D shapes in infinite environments, frontman and songwriter Michael Tomlinson (formerly of Yves Klein Blue), said: "The idea was to merge seamlessly between the reality of our live band and the free and wild expanses of sound. I spent New Year’s Eve driving all night along the coast with the words and the rhythm going over and over in my head.  As I arrived at Noosa National Park at sunset on January 1st all the elements in the song seemed to align simultaneously."
