Curses Announces New LP 'Incarnadine', Airs "Blood Oath"

Berlin-based nu-disco/house/techno producer Luca Venezia aka Curses has announced the release of his second studio album 'Incarnadine'.

The 10-track record features collaborations with Jennifer Touch and TERR and will be out on March 11 via Jennifer Cardini’s label Dischi Autunno. Pre-order your copy here.

Conceptual in style and nature, Curses has described the influence and inspiration behind the record himself.

“The album is a dialogue between the inner self and outer, and romance of eternal and immortal existence. Hence the first track ‘Miriam’ being a ballad to the vampiress main character in The Hunger book and film from the 80s. How do we make an emotion timeless?“

Curses has been a prominent figure in Berlin’s underground electronic music community – a resident DJ for Berlin’s infamous Pornceptual party, he also established his own label Ombra INTL in 2016.

The music on the new album is cinematic at times, drawing upon influences from 80’s culture and synth prog. A limited edition vinyl will also be released in collaboration with Parisian fashion house Saint Laurent celebrating the release.

New Entry: Johnny Hunter Return With New Single "Cry Like A Man"

Australian post punk/alt band Johnny Hunter have returned with their new single "Cry Like A Man".

The song is out now through Cooking Vinyl Australia. Get it here.

Behind 'Cry Like A Man':

"Cry Like A Man calls upon the embracism of vulnerability. Men often abuse their masculinity to shield their vulnerability, in doing so they jeopardise the balance of the two dualities, they lose their sense of humanity and sense of self, to satisfy the self-aggrandizing fallacy that the world belongs to them.

I had been placed in the unfortunate position of witnessing someone shrink into very selfish and abusive behaviour. It had been my first encounter with such an event and it shook me to my core. After the dust had settled, I couldn't help but dissect it.

A special song as it was written the first time I interacted with our producer Jack. The violent lyrics set the tone for the song and unravel the events that took place on that fateful night, written in a 6 hour brainstorm with Jack as I manically yelled lyrics whilst he then pulled them apart" - Nick Hutt.

Guerilla Toss Announce New LP 'Famously Alive', Stream "Cannibal Capital"

New York psych/punk/funk band Guerilla Toss have announced the release of their new full-length album  'Famously Alive'.

The follow-up to 2018's Twisted Crystal will be out on March 25 through Sub Pop Records. Pre-order your copy here.

Dig deep enough inside yourself -- start treating your body as your sanctuary rather than your enemy -- and eventually you'll find yourself blooming right back out into the sun. That's the transformation Guerilla Toss trace on Famously Alive. After a decade sprinkling glitter into grit, building a reputation as one of the most ferociously creative art-rock groups working, the band have eased fully into their light. This is Guerilla Toss at their most luminescent -- awake, alive, and extending an open invitation to anyone who wants to soak it all up beside them.

Singer and lyricist Kassie Carlson, multi-instrumentalist Peter Negroponte and guitarist Arian Shafiee wrote Famously Alive at home in the Catskills during the pervading quiet of the pandemic year. The uncertainty of COVID-19 lockdowns and the total disruption of routine forced Carlson to negotiate with herself in new and challenging ways. "You have to be with yourself all the time during the pandemic," she says. "I had to figure out a way to manage my anxiety. The pandemic was hard, but it helped me get comfortable inside my own body. My peace of mind came out of being thrust into the deepest shit. This album is all about being happy, being alive, and strength. It’s meant to inspire people."

New single and album opener "Cannibal Capital" is about the exhaustion and dread of social anxiety, and came together in a flurry toward the end of the album's sessions. Throughout the record, Guerilla Toss meet themselves with curiosity, generosity, and acceptance even for the harder parts of being alive.

Check out the album's tracklist and the video for "Cannibal Capital" below.

01. Cannibal Capital
02. Famously Alive

New Entry: Warm Graves Drop New Single "Sound Sleeper"

Leipzig-based sci-fi/wave/experimental outfit Warm Graves (the moniker of composer Jonas Wehner) have dropped their new single "Sound Sleeper".

The song is taken from their forthcoming sohpomore album 'Ease', which will be available on February 25th through Fuzz Club. Pre-order your copy here.

The record arrives seven years on from their 2014 debut album ‘Ships Will Come’. This seven-year gestation between the two albums brings with it a transformation in the creative process of Warm Graves, much like the human body exchanges its cells every seven years – our human bodies being both the same and wholly other. “For me, ‘Ease’ always comes back to the idea of transformation”, Wehner says: “In this case, from struggle to ease, choirs to whispers, rush to patience, light to dark. Those 7 years didn’t pass lightly. Life took a lot of turns and I had a lot to learn. It’s all in there compressed in 9 tracks.”

Methyl Ethel Announce New LP 'Are You Haunted?', Stream "Proof (ft. Stella Donnelly)"

Australian indie rock/alt-pop band Methyl Ethel have announced the release of their fourth studio album 'Are You Haunted?'.

The follow-up to 2019's Triage will be out on February 18 via Future Classic. Pre-order your copy here.

About the new single Proof (feat. Stella Donnelly) Methyl Ethel's lead singer Jake Webb explains: A lot of the ideas in Proof come from thinking about what we mean when we talk about truth. It’s also a song that was inspired by watching a lot of old European cinema, which I love. We decided to play with some of those themes, the use of black and white throughout is intended to be read in the idiomatic sense, of things being ‘black and white’. Two people are discussing, explaining their version of truth, their Proof.

Working with Stella has been a joy from the start, that sentiment continued when we were making this clip. Who else could I possibly approach to join me in bringing this song to life if not the truth-telling queen herself! The seen and unseen, the art of subterfuge, and the psychoanalytical reading of dreams are all elements that we’ve played with here in what was my absolute favourite video to make so far.

Check out the album's tracklist and watch the video for "Proof (feat. Stella Donnelly)" below.

Are You Haunted? Tracklist:
01. Ghosting
02. Proof
