Emotionally and sonically saturated, their music boasts Cure-esque textures and melody, as well as the thematic elements and visceral delivery of The Afghan Whigs.

"The song 'Every Day A Fresh Atrocity' explores the dark corners where our work often resides, both sonically and lyrically. It conveys the feeling of the haunting suffocation of a broken relationship, compounded by a reality that seems to become more dystopian each day," says frontman-songwriter Jame Lathren.

British electronic pioneers Blancmange have unleashed their new single "Reduced Voltage".

The song is taken from their upcoming new album 'Private View', which will be out on September 30. Pre-order your copy here.

Private View captures an artist who is potently in the moment while also being able to draw on 40 years’ worth of knowledge, experience and built-in intuition. “I'm really lucky to be able to make music completely on my own terms,” Arthur says. “Within myself, there are no limits, there’s a massive palette inside and I will try anything.

The video was created by Harvey Wise: "Exploring these visuals throughout in a graphical manner, from the movement in dance to abstracted pixelated textures. Using the simplicity of the dots as a voice to express through, these boundaries give the video an identity or self-contained world."

The Vacant Lots Drop New Single/Video "Consolation Prize"

NYC  electro post-punk duo The Vacant Lots (aka Jared Artaud and Brian MacFadyen) have dropped the video for their new single "Consolation Prize".

The song is taken from their forthcoming fourth album 'Closure', which will be out on September 30th on Fuzz Club Records. Pre-order your copy here.

Artaud says of the track’s inspirations, “In the beginning of any relationship, you can really lose yourself in another person. There’s something inherently infinite, but also terribly fleeting about love. This duality of will it last forever or will it last for now. You start off reaching for the stars and end up thinking life is your consolation prize. Then there is the music, which is like slow dancing on Benzos. Music for loners and lovers.”

McFadyen continues, saying of the track, “Consolation Prize opens with a swirl of modulated drones from an Arp Solus. This free-form soundscape is anchored with an arpeggiated bassline from the Arp 2600, minimal drum beat and rhythm guitar. The track builds towards the end with the final chorus featuring some additional parts from a Wurlitzer 200 and Juno 60.”

GIFT Unveil New Single/Video "Feather"

New York City neo-psychedelia five-piece GIFT have premiered their new single "Feather" alongside an accompanying music video.

The song is taken from their much-anticipated debut album 'Momentary Presence', set to arrive on entirety on October 14th through Dedstrange. Pre-order your copy here.

On the slow burning psychedelic ballad, Bandleader TJ Freda sings of “psychic destabilization and the quest for balance” from a patchwork nest of warm lo-fi electronica held together with hallucinatory bedroom production work plus a ton of love.

“I wrote ‘Feather’ after waking up from a lucid dream,” says Freda. “It’s about trying to help someone who can’t be helped, but in the end, you want to accept them for who they are and love them no matter what. It’s one of the most personal songs on the record.”

In the video, director Dylan Brannigan does his own dance of reality, performing magic acts of audiovisual alchemy to transform GIFT’s metaphysical disturbances into a series of surreal vignettes; each rendered in hazy, saturated hues like a contraband bootleg VHS of Alejandro Jodorowsky’s Holy Mountain.

""Feather is Inspired by Jung’s theories of collective unconscious and its archetypes - A man, representing The Nine of Swords tarot card enters the astral plane where he undergoes a transformative experience.  Incorporating themes of botanical consciousness, individuation, and harmony, Feather is a portal into the mind of a character on the edge of a new frontier. "

On the astral plane, our story follows the figure of the Nine of Swords Tarot Card as he undergoes a process of individuation.
