Escapee Premieres New Single/Video "Seventy Five"

Warrington based artist Escapee (aka Graham Williamson) has premiered the video for his new single "Seventy Five".

Escapee forages in the past for influences citing 80s stadium rock right through to early 90s shoegaze. This is the second single released by the Warrington based project, the debut single 'Jodie's Ticket To Ride' was released in November 2021.

Williamson second single is dedicated to the hospital staff who saved his life after a battle with alcoholism. Warrington General Hospital staff took Graham in on a night in 2010 when he walked from Salford – where he was living – to Warrington and it was in the hospital he realised he was going to change his direction.

“I was taken in and they looked after me for a couple of nights and something happened in that hospital which changed me forever,” said Graham.

“If they hadn’t had looked after me that night, I don’t think I’d be alive and there would definitely be no Escapee.

“The humanity and care I received was fantastic. I will never be able to repay them.

“I came out of the hospital a changed man.”

The song is named ‘75’ and came about after Graham was playing about with a bassline by Peter Hook.

New Friends Release New Single/Video "Doomed"

Canadian indie pop band New Friends have released the video for their new single "Doomed".

From the band: "Doomed," revolves around the idea of being self aware of the chaotic energy you bring into your love life. When relationship after relationship consistently fails, often we give up and say, "Well I guess I'm just really bad at this 'love' thing."

This song calls out to any future lover, preparing them for the fact that you know how the story is going to go.

"Doomed" has a Y2K dance party vibe, with the song's upbeat nature playing a satirical role as you're almost dancing and partying to the fact that you've failed so many times at love that you deem yourself unloveable.

While this song brings up a lot of serious issues we sometimes face in our love lives, we felt that the most therapeutic way of dealing with those issues is by not letting them bring us down.

Acknowledge reality, smile, and worry about it tomorrow.

Gathering of Strangers Unveil New Single "Red and Gold"

Manchester indie rock band/alt Gathering of Strangers have unveiled their new single "Red and Gold".

Combining captivating classic rock and the energy of your favourite modern-day indie pop artist, Conor, Tom, Andre, Bruce and Peter come together to form the explosive guitar rock five-piece. With thunderous high-octane energy, adrenalised anthemic vocals and rapacious riffs, Gathering of Strangers are creating a dynamic driving force into the rock scene.

“Red and Gold” ignites that feel-good fever that is certain to spread love and spark a shared sense of happiness. Creating a euphoric soundtrack that perfectly depicts the moment just after sunset, the tune resembles the colourful illuminations of the sky.

Described by the band as being about “having the time of your life with your lover or your family. Simply dancing from sunset to sunrise all night long”, that sense of sheer elation is palpable across the track’s runtime.

"My absolute favourite time of the day is just after sunset, and you have about five minutes when the sun has disappeared, but it has turned the whole sky a golden red. I wanted to capture my feelings during those 5 minutes and put it in a song" explains frontman Conor Rabone.

“Having come out of the pandemic and not being allowed to go anywhere. We felt this was absolutely necessary to write an upbeat, feel-good track to go hand in hand with this beautiful summer of freedom.”
