Budapest based indie rock/psych pop/new wave band EZ Basic have shared the video for their brand new single "Next Time".

The song it is taken from their upcoming new album 'Resonance', out on October 14. Pre-order it it here.

The Resonance main inspirations were the 60s, 70s psychedelic-folk and obscure retro-futuro publications, and besides music at the beginning of the pandemic has slowed everyday life, social alienation inherent and Hartmut Rosa German sociologist few years ago, His book Resonance (in which the author tries to find a solution to the problems of a man in today’s world who is unable to keep up with the pace of an accelerated society, a radical information explosion, and technological development).

Songwriter-singer Árpád Szarvas, after the previous Hello Heavy album and Memories of Spring  EP, worked again this year with the famous British producer George Shilling (Blur, Primal Scream, The Fall, etc.) on the new material, who, in addition to mixing and mastering he also contributed to some of the instruments.

Árpád Szarvas said that “Next Time was the last song that was made for the record, and because of its slightly soulful atmosphere, I definitely wanted a guest musician to contribute to it in some way. I chose Imré Poniklo , partly to reciprocate the invitation to guest guest in Amber Smith's song Straight To Video a few years ago , and partly because I felt that his voice would fit perfectly with this song. Palace Announce New LP 'Shoals', Stream "Lover (Don't Let Me Down)"

London-based indie rock/alt band Palace have announced the release of their highly anticipated third studio album 'Shoals'.

The follow-up to 2019's Life After, will be out on January 21st 2022 via Fiction Records. Pre-order your copy here.

The 12-track record was written during the UK’s first coronavirus lockdown in 2020, during which forntman Leo Wyndham was forced to confront a number of mental health issues. “I’m one of those people who’s tried to run away from those fears and anxieties, but [during lockdown] I had a real feeling of ‘Shit, I can’t hide from this now’,” he told NME. “My brain was like a conveyer belt of negative thoughts and a feeling of purposelessness. When music was taken away, I started to wonder what the fuck my purpose was.”

‘Shoals’ is a profound and pensive album, boldly exploring some of life’s greatest questions over its 12 mesmerising tracks. The album deftly explores the interplay of three central existential dilemmas against a broader backdrop of wonder at the vastness and power of the ocean, concluding its arc with the stunning opus ‘Where Sky Becomes Sea’. Through diving into themes of the subconscious, dreams and existentialism, ‘Shoals’ is broadly a record about living with and processing fear. As frontman Leo Wyndham explains:

The record symbolises how our minds can have beautiful yet dangerous depths, like the ocean, and how our fears and thoughts are like shoals of fish that move and shift constantly from place to place; chaotic, often untameable and unpredictable.”

Check out the album{s tracklist and watch the video for their new single "Lover (Don't Let Me Down)", below.

Shoals Tracklist:
01. Never Said It Was Easy

The song is out today (September 30). Get it here.

From the duo: “We wrote this 90s inspired song during the first Covid lockdown after our album tour was cancelled. It was the same time when we rediscovered Primal Scream’s album „Screamadelica“ after Andrew Weatherall passed away far too early in February 2020. We always loved music that is unclassifiable and this record is such a great combination of genres, we’d never deny it as an influence."

Veteran rockers The Rolling Stones have shared their previously unreleased song "Troubles A’ Comin".

In an interview with Variety recently Mick Jagger said, “we never finished it. It didn’t have proper vocals or finished guitar solos. But I know how to do this now. You find a track that’s got a groove and if there’s an idea, you run with the idea and make some fun with it, do some extra things. It comes alive a bit more”.

New Entry: SPINN Release New Single "Stargazing"

Liverpool indie pop/dream pop/jangle band SPINN have released their new single "Stargazing".

The song is taken from their eagerly awaited second studio album 'Outside Of The Blue', set to arrive on November 5. Pre-order your copy here.

“It’s about this woman who is a vampire in this really rough fictional town in Iran called ‘Bad Town’,” says frontman Johnny Quinn. “She basically goes around and kills all the drug dealers and shit, but then she falls in love with this guy who looks like James Dean.”

“I don’t really cover that aspect in the song, but I just liked the way the person doing all the gory killing in the film was actually a woman. It’s so different to the sort of traditional horror films, where it’s always the woman getting chased by the big bad man. The majority of my favourite horror films are set in the early ’80s so that’s why it has such an ’80s style sound.”

Watch: Hembree Air Music Video For "Operators (feat. Bodye)"

Kansas City indie rock/alt band Hembree have aired the video for their newest single "Operators (feat. Bodye)".

The song is part of our  current playlist and came out last week (September 21). Get it here.

Written in their hometown and recorded remotely from home studios during lockdown, “Operators” is the only song of the band’s new releases that is directly about 2020. They'd always wanted to collaborate with their good friend, Bodye, and when Henry Solomon (Haim, Thumpasaurus) joined on saxophone, the track came to life. Vocalist Isaac Flynn has this to say on it:

"I wrote it right when all of the protests started in the summer, and the chorus in particular is about when the officers, national guard and even some of the city officials would act like they were with the protestors in solidarity, and then turn around and gas and attack them. That's where the idea of "they're saying: tell me where you want me to be, tell me what you want and you need, you can tell me" originated from. They were acting like they were there to help, but it was all for show. It all felt almost cartoonishly villainous to me. I wanted to reflect that in the lyrics and in the dark, dance heavy groove of the song.

Watch: Revolution Above Disorder Drops New Single/Video "Illuminate"

Vancouver-based Dubliner Stephen Nicholas White a.k.a. Stevie Moonboots (The Orange Kyte/House of Dolls/The Subterranean Satellite Band/Magic Shoppe) post punk/psych/electronic solo project Revolution Above Disorder has dropped the video for his new single "Illuminate".

The song, produced by ACTORS' Jason Corbett, features on their upcoming three-track single, set to arrive on October 22 through Sonic Blew/[PIAS]. Pre-order your copy here.

Revolution Above Disorder is a melting pot of post-punk, psychedelic rock and electronic music with raw, sincere vocals underpinning the songs.

"Illuminate’ is the song that kick started Revolution Above Disorder. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I’d just come off a European tour with Magic Shoppe and I found myself having to cancel scheduled plans with The Orange Kyte. In my downtime I began to reevaluate where I was headed musically and I realized I’d become dissatisfied with what I’d been doing. As I searched through old demos from the past, some going back over a decade, I was excited to hear songs with real potential that either I’d abandoned or just plain forgotten about. I grew interested in the idea of this modern day version of myself collaborating with my chaotic and directionless former self. I wanted to finish what I’d started many years prior. '‘Illuminate’ was the first one I needed to record," says Stephen Nicholas White.

Where The Orange Kyte was an exercise in just saying yes to everything and seeing what happens, allowing the sound and personnel to morph, twist and evolve, Revolution Above Disorder differs insofar as there is a very well-defined and over-arching post-punk/psychedelic aesthetic driving the project. Unlike the lo-fi garage pop, thrown-together spirit of The Orange Kyte, the songs have all undergone the demoing process, and White has opted for a more polished and meticulously crafted approach in the studio with producer Jason Corbett.

With Revolution Above Disorder, White has rediscovered his first sonic love, a blend of psychedelic rock and post-punk suffused with strong electronic elements in the manner of bands like Primal Scream, Death in Vegas, UNKLE and Radiohead to earlier inspirations such as David Bowie, Brian Eno, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, CAN and Kraftwerk.

Watch: Ian Sweet Drops New Single /Video "f*ckthat"

Los Angeles indie rock/bedroom pop artist Ian Sweet (aka Jilian Medford) has dropped the video for her new single "f*ckthat".

The song is taken from their forthcoming eighth studio album 'N', which will be available on November 13th through Polyvinyl Records. Pre-order your copy here.

It's hard not to relate to the song's meaning, as Medford explains, "My phone causes me a lot of anxiety! I really only like to use it to take videos and pictures of my dog. This song is about not wanting to answer calls anymore and wishing I could just throw it out the window and disassociate from its evil/stress inducing technology."

Produced by Manitoba duo deadmen (Royal Canoe), Medford's voice soars in jubilant defiance over a pulsating bass line and four-on-the-floor stomp, sending its caller in question headfirst into voicemail. It's her strongest showing yet, and an exciting look at things to come as IAN SWEET's sound continues to evolve with pop precision.

Watch: Planet Unveil New Single/Video "Ship Won't Change"

Sydney indie rock/pop band Planet have unveiled the video for their newest single "Ship Won't Change".

The song, produced by the band themselves alongside Foo Fighters and Muse collaborator Adrian Bushby, is out today (September 29). Get it here.

Speaking about it, frontman Matty Took says: “‘Ship Won’t Change’ was a latecomer to the mix of album songs – the song itself came together pretty easily as it’s a classic folk tune at heart. I sent the demo over to Tommy [Peppitt, guitarist] and he came back straight away with that vibey guitar that comes in the second verse. He added some cool synth and string sounds which were eventually tracked for real by Pete Whitfield in Manchester. During the mixing process, we wanted to add in harmonies – Lily & Grace from CLEWS came to mind straight away. They came round and nailed the whole song in like 30 mins. The lyrics are about being in a relationship but always feeling like it could fuck up at any time, so much that it makes you feel whack. The ‘ship’, being the relationship and trying to keep it from changing.”

Newcastle indie rock musician Sam Fender has released his new single "Spit Of You".

The song is taken from his upcoming second studio album 'Seventeen Going Under', set to arrive on October 8th through Interscope Records . Pre-order your copy here.

Sam words: “This is one of my favourite songs on the new record, it’s a song about boys and their dads. It’s based around my own relationship with my old man, and how we both struggle as blokes to communicate the way we feel to each other without it becoming a stand off. It’s about how the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, as I get further in to my twenties i see so much of myself in him, especially when it comes to being stubborn. The second half of the song talks about seeing him with my grandma when she passed away, and how I saw him as a son, and how that moment reminded me to make the most of my time with him. If anything, it is a declaration of love for him."

White Lies Announce New LP 'As I Try Not To Fall Apart', Stream Title Track

London indie/post punk trio White Lies have announced the release of their sixth studio album 'As I Try Not To Fall Apart'.

The follow-up to 2019's Five, was recorded at Sleeper and Assault & Battery studios in London, with long-term collaborator Ed Buller, and will be out on 18th February 2022 through [PIAS]. Pre-order your copy here.

“We wrote this song quickly, late one night, and often the songs which come quickest are written from the gut and the heart, not with the head,” the band explained in a statement about the title track. “We wanted the melody to feel like a hymn, to give the confessional lyrics weight despite being wrapped up as a pop song. It’s about accepting vulnerability as a man, and knowing it’s ok to be broken. There’s never been a more pressing time to spread the message that it’s ok to not be ok.”

Watch: Team Picture Drop New Single/Video "The Big Trees, The Little Trees"

Leeds-based lo-fi rock band Team Picture have dropped the video for their new single "The Big Trees, The Little Trees"

The song is out today (September 27) via Clue Records. Get it here.

Employing satire to criticise the current, poignant subject of societal discourse that is the incel community. The track pairs dark, downbeat lyricism with an upbeat, percussion-lead groove and a pop-hook chorus that’ll be stuck in your head long after the first listen.

Speaking about it, Josh explained; “The Big Trees, The Little Trees’ is a sub-Talking Heads piece of black-pill satire. The title comes from what might be the first piece of incel literature ever unfortunately created, called ‘Might is Right’ by a total asshole called ‘Ragnar Redbeard’ (the pen name of one ‘Arthur Desmond’). The track was originally considered for the recording sessions for our 2nd record, but after completion of this version we decided it stood neatly enough on its own horrifying two feet to be presented separately...”

New Entry: Holm Unveils New Single "Intelligent Moves"

Holm the solo project by Mikkel Holm Silkjær (from Danish indie rock band Yung) has unveiled his new single "Intelligent Moves".

The song is taken from his forthcoming debut studio album 'Why Don't You Dance', which will be available on November 12 through PNKSLM Recordings. Pre-order your copy here.

Recorded by Yung bandmate Tobias Guldborg Tarp (who co-produced alongside Neil Robert Young), Why Don’t You Dance is the sound of Silkjær stepping away from his group’s predilection for taut rock and roll and instead embracing a different side of his musical personality, one defined by his sharp ear for a hook, as well as - crucially - his burgeoning ability as an expressive lyricist.

Mikkel words: "Often I find myself repeating the same routines, week in and week out. Through repetition I’ve settled and come to terms with life as is has presented itself to me. At the time Intelligent Moves was conceived I found myself in a strange state where I had just started to realise that my own self-perception was the cause of me neglecting the importance of my own wellbeing. Detaching yourself from a naive or toxic perception of life can, for a number of reasons, be incredibly hard, but nonetheless very important, in order to move forward towards a more sustainably way of dealing with everyday life. The song title and the lyrics in Intelligent Moves contemplate these thoughts."

New Entry: Fotoform Drop New Single "You Set Fire to the Sun"

Seattle post punk/dream pop band Fotoform have dropped their new single "You Set Fire to the Sun".

The song is taken from their forthcoming sophomore album 'Horizons', which will be available on October 15. Pre-order your copy here.

"You Set Fire to the Sun" is a call to redirect the negative energy that comes from the existential crises of our everyday lives and harness it as a motivation to live our fullest lives. Essentially, it’s about finding motivation in death – or at least in the realization that death is inevitable and often unexpected.

In “Set Fire,” this existential dilemma is (nearly literally) universalized into celestial terms: “We were broken from the start / stars exploding and pulled apart”. However, there is still hope, even if fleeting: “Don’t fade, be brave / How long until we notice / How long until the door closes.” With this looming inevitability, we need to redirect our fear(s) toward the goal of realizing our greatest, most resonant selves – while we still can.

New Entry: Justine Forever Shares New Single "Flash"

French electro/synth pop/synthwave producer/singer Justine Forever has shared her  infectious new single "Flash".

The song "a 'voyage nocturnal' under the city lights" is taken from her highly-anticipated debut album "𝐹𝐿𝐴𝑆𝐻" set to be released on October 29 through Her Majesty's Ship. Get it here.

Justine Forever's music evokes nightlife in its entirety. Like wanderings after the end of the day, we go from loss of senses to euphoria, from worry to reverie, from blinding colorimetry to elegant black and white. A total aesthetic universe constructed by the French musician as a world apart in which her pieces resonate like a call to abandon.

With Flash, Justine takes the Italian disco on a tour of a John Carpenter film. There is one of the successes of this album: its minimal approach which perfectly illustrates the adage "less is more". Flash is dark, cinematic, and terribly effective.

Bright and happy, the track moves through bouncy verses, building to a swinging chorus featuring upbeat percussive elements, delightful grooves and a swinging riff segue. With charming guitar layers boasting enticing bass riffs, the track delivers the warming energy of coastal indie-rock whilst remaining an irresistible indie-pop tune, showing off the boys’ dynamism and growing sound.

Known for sharing personal coming of age stories with raw, honest lyricism, ‘i need another plan’ yearns with wanting to start over and be better, all the while knowing that real change needs to come from within.
