New Entry: Bearstronaut Unveil New Single "Miracle Mile"

Boston, MA indie rock/post-disco band Bearstronaut have unveiled their new single "Miracle Mile".

“The main thing with this song, as well as ‘Working Nights,’ [is] we just wanted to challenge ourselves to have fun and not make song writing such a painstaking process, told frontman Dave Martineau to Vanyaland. Our goal post-Telecoast wasn’t to begin writing another album right away per se, it just so happened that we’ve ended up with a chunk of material that we love as of late. We’ll see if it becomes an LP or EP, right now we just want to put content out there that we feel good about. While it might be a lot different from our previous releases it is a true statement of where we’re at now creatively and can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”

Watch: STRFKR Share New Video For "Beach Monster"

Portland electro-poppers STRFKR have unveiled the new video for "Beach Monster", a track taken from their recently released album 'Miracle Mile'.

The song is part of our current playlist www.koolrockradio.com .

The video, directed by Joshua Cox, shows the band dressed in the peak of 1950s fashion, playing against an blank blue background while staring blankly into the camera. The scene is intercut with a smiling couple at the beach with two children who draw in the sand and uncover something deadly.

"I’m a big fan of contrast in film and the art of leading the audience into something they might not otherwise be ready for. Directors like Hitchcock and Polanski, [films] that start out like romantic comedies or sweet dramas, and turn into carnage and chaos in such a graceful way. The art of leading an audience into an enjoyable minefield. It was a bit challenging to do it with a song just over two minutes. I think it was a great exercise for learning how to communicate a message with an economy of scenes." Says Cox.
