New Entry: Holy Holy Return With New Single "How You Been"

Aussie indie rock/alt duo Holy Holy (Oscar Dawson and Timothy Carroll) have returned with their new single "How You Been".

“It has a lot of the hallmarks of what we do,” Tim says. “At the core of it, it’s a classic Holy Holy song in the sense that there’s real storytelling. A character based, lyrical theme plays out.”

“Then there’s Oscar’s emotive chord progressions that subtly influence the way you feel. They feed into the lyrics. You don’t realise why, but you’re listening to the song and certain emotions come up."

Watch: Strawberry Pills Reveal New Single/Video "Όλα Καίνε"

Athens dark wave/electro/post punk duo Strawberry Pills have revealed the video for their new single "Όλα Καίνε" (All Burn).

The song is out today (April 16) via Inner Ear. Get your copy here.

From the band: "Όλα Καίνε" was an experiment that we started with our collaborator, Aristomeni Theodoropoulos, without necessarily intending to release it. A game with words and sounds that reflects in a strange way the difficult and unprecedented conditions we are experiencing in the last year. When we finished, we felt the need to share it with the public, even if it is not a typical example of a "Strawberry Pills song". We let the emotion lead us and that is enough for us. We hope to give the listeners strength, the emotions they are looking for and to return very soon to the live stages to communicate again in the most direct and beautiful way there is.The video was directed by Aris Athanatos & Valisia Odell.

New Entry: Cucamaras Drop New Single "Death Of The Social"

Nottingham indie/post punk quartet Cucamaras have dropped their new single "Death Of The Social".

Speaking about the song, band member Josh Hart said: “The lyrics that Olly wrote for the track took a really simple but stark form. I think we both enjoy how literal and honest the track is, and that’s matched with probably our most simple song structure we’ve ever had, but that chorus just has impact and I think it will be somewhat of a protagonist in our live set. You can’t not go nuts for that, surely?”.

The single was inspired by the work of  sociologist Jean Baudrillard and penned whilst gigging in Paris, after a hungover debate between Hart and Bowley. The song takes inspiration from postmodernism as well as drawing on internal anxieties that the two have about an increasing social divide in society. It was recorded and mixed at Rainy Daze Recordings in Nottingham.
