Interpol Announce New EP 'A Fine Mess', Stream "The Weekend"

New York indie rock/alt band Interpol have announced they will release their new EP 'A Fine Mess', on May 17th via Matador.

Recorded during time spent in upstate New York with Dave Fridmann, the five songs gradually emerged as a body of work with a narrative and flow unto itself.

The title track received further production from Kaines & Tom A.D. and mixing from Claudius Mittendorfer, who had first worked with Interpol as engineer on Our Love To Admire. The resulting set is a living, breathing postcard from the band to their fans as they tour the world throughout 2019, and a linear continuation of the visceral and contagious energy set loose with Marauder.

From the beguiling refrain of the title track, to the soulful topsy-turvy of ‘No Big Deal’, cathartic chorus of long sought-after live favourite ‘Real Life’, anthemic swell of ‘The Weekend’, and angular shades of ‘Thrones’, A Fine Mess is a bracing and distinct entry in Interpol’s oeuvre.

Pre-order the EP here, check out he tracklist and listen to new single 'The Weekend', below.

Tracklist:
01. Fine Mess
02. No Big Deal
03. Real Life
04. The Weekend
05. Thrones

Los Angeles dub pop/psych/electro pop duo Peaking Lights (Aaron Coyes and Indra Dunis) have announce the release of their new EP 'Sea of Sand'.

Second Still Announce New EP 'Equals', Stream New Single "Opening"

Los Angeles post punk/cold wave band Second Still have announced the release of their new EP titled 'Equals'.

The five-track EP,  was written over a period of six months, and recorded in various rehearsal spaces and makeshift studios around Los Angeles. It will be out on April 20th via Belgian label Weyrd Son Records.

Equals sees the band evolving their sound and progressing forward into sonically uncharted territory.

The four main components of the band’s signature sound are still there –chorus and delay-heavy guitar, hypnotic bass grooves, heavyweight drum machine beats, and hauntingly beautiful vocal melodies– but they have added a couple analog synthesizers into the arsenal for Equals, mixing a whole new element into their already uniquely realized style of post-punk. Chris King is credited with recording, mixing, and co-producing the EP, and Mike Tierney with the mastering.

Teleman Announce New EP 'Fünf', Stream New Single "Bone China Face"

London indie rock band Teleman have announced they will release their new EP titled 'Fünf' on November 17.

The five-track EP follows last year's Brilliant Sanity LP, and each song have been recorded by a different producer, the band enlisted five different producers from electronic / dance backgrounds to see if they could bring anything new to their sound, working with Timothy J. Fairplay, Ghost Culture, Bullion, Oli Bayston of Boxed In, and Moscoman.

About the record the band said: "It was kind of tricky cos just as we were settling into the process it was time to up and off to another studio to meet the next guy. But mostly it was a great experience, we all enjoyed it a lot. The producers we worked with came mostly from dance backgrounds and some had never recorded a band before, so we were all pushed out of our comfort zones a bit which was great. All said and done, it still sounds like Teleman but each song has a different flavour which is what we were hoping for. "

Tracklist:
01. Spectre (Timothy J. Fairplay)

Funeral Advantage Announces new EP 'Please Help Me', Airs "CEOT7K"

The 6-track EP will be released on February 24th via The Native Sound on limited edition vinyl and cassette tape, as well as digitally. Pre-order your copy here.

According to the press release, if 2015's debut album 'Body Is Dead' came from a place of hope, 'Please Help Me' comes from a place of desolation and confusion. Written during the disintegration of a long term relationship, the record works through the existential feelings of hopelessness and meaninglessness that followed.

While the lyrical content is much darker on this release, musically ’Please Help Me’ picks up where ‘Body Is Dead’ left off – irresistibly bright, and melodic dream-pop.

Kershaw has also aired his new single "CEOT7K". Stream it below.
