Watch: Scalping Return With New Single/Video "Deadlock"

Bristol electronic/dance/punk/techno outfit Scalping have returned with their propulsive new single "Deadlock", and its accompanied video.

The song is out today and marks their first release for fabric's Houndstooth imprint. Grab it here.

From the band: "Deadlock has been in our live set for over a year now and it's always a highlight; it's fierce, relentless and gets a great reaction whenever we play it."

The first versions of this song were based around a one bar synth loop that ran for the duration, it gave us a lot of space to improvise and play with the dynamics and structure live, to push and pull off both each other and the crowd. The energy coming back off the audience always has a huge impact on how we perform but it was particularly noticeable with this song, it would feel very different every night as we'd each be trying out different things.

With us not being able to play it live for the foreseeable it felt like the perfect time to record a definitive version of the song. After coming off tour we finalised and recorded this version of Deadlock at the start of the year, before lockdown, split between our homes in Bristol and Rockfield Studios in Wales."

The video was directed by Jason Baker. Take a look below.

"World-building has always been my way of coping (distracting? i’ll have to ask my therapist) with life - our new song ’25’ is about that process - the willing delusion, the glorious romanticism, the friendships lost and the companionships formed on this foolish voyage into emo-pop heaven." Jacob

Watch: Low Island Reveal "Don't Let The Light In" Music Video

Oxford indie dance quartet Low Island have revealed the video for their latest single "Don't Let The Light In".

The song is part of our current playlist and is the first single from their highly anticipated debut album.Grab it here.

It is a song about memory; trying to preserve a perfect moment in time but ultimately not being able to. "Don't Let The Light In" was close to never being recorded. Finishing the album in a studio in remote France, it was completed on the same day the French government locked the entire country down. A few hours later, the band had packed up their instruments and were travelling back to the UK to begin their own 2 month lockdown. This song is that moment, that memory, captured in time.
