New Entry: Gathering of Strangers Reveal New Single "Naked & Blind"

Manchester indie rock band/alt Gathering of Strangers have revealed their new single "Naked & Blind".

Speaking of the conception of the thunderous track, they say: “We wrote this song last year in the middle of the madness of the pandemic. Tom, our guitarist, led the rehearsal with a subtle yet captivating lead line that we ended up forming the whole song around.”

Discussing the narrative behind the track, the band add: “Battling with our own highs and lows throughout these years taken from us, we used this song to portray our heightened emotions in our most vulnerable states. Tackling these tough times, we were able to identify how strength can be born from vulnerability when allowing yourself to be open and focus on brighter days ahead.”

The song is out now. Get it here and take a listen below.

Watch: SDH Unleash New Single/Video "Maybe A Body"

Barcelona synth wave/post punk duo SDH (Semiotics Department Of Heteronyms) have unleashed the video for their latest single "Maybe A Body".

The song is taken from their new EP 'Maybe A Body', set to arrive on April 29, 2022 via Avant! Records. Pre-order it here.

The title-track is a powerful song about body recognition, about having a voice and using it, sustained by some throbbing EBM with traces of 90’s trance/progressive, ending up in a perfect balance of rousing groove and hypnagogic feelings. The B side is the hunting ground for more dream-like scenarios as it digs deep in the nostalgia realm with its retro mood filled with italo and synth-pop bliss.
To power up both these aspects of SDH’s identity, we have called two of the best electronic producers out there to remix one track each.

Maybe A Body has been given to techno golden boy and Avant! alumni Phase Fatale who has managed to enhance even further the trance-like nature of the track, creating just the perfect dancefloor filler. All Of That has been instead reworked by the skillful hands of the rising star of the Eighties sound Pablo Bozzi who literally exploded the italo groove, occasionally smoothing things out with some breakbeats just where they’re most needed.

New Entry: WAXX! Share New Single/Video "Rearrange"

Norwich scuzzy garage/psych rock band WAXX! have shared their new single "Rearrange", alongside an accompanying music video.

The follow-up to last year-s debut single "Dave Says", is out now through Catch 21 Records.

The  fuzzy psychedelic 6-piece invoke the "90s does 60s" vibe. Come for the strong melodies and soaring guitar lines and stay for the explosive live show with an emphasis on dancing and general good times.

Rearrange is a commentary on day to day priorities and how the constant moving puzzle pieces can create a very different picture from one day to the next. The single is a mixture of lo fi and hi fi production, again mirroring the message in the song.

The band have a string of live dates across the summer and are working on their debut album out later this year.

The Present Moment Details New LP 'Enough To Drive You Mad', Airs "Dharma"

Los Angeles cold wave/minimal synth/electro artist The Present Moment (aka Scott Milton) has revealed details of his upcoming new album 'Enough To Drive You Mad.'

His fifth studio album was recorded in Los Angeles during the 2020-2021 lockdown against the backdrop of Covid-19's seemingly unstoppable fear and omnipresent suffering and will be out on May 1st. Pre-order your copy here.

Dark, blunt, and beautiful ETDYM dives unflinching into the horror of watching a world flail in helplessness through waves of sickness, misinformation, anger, hypocrisy and greed, all the while clinging desperately to the concept of empathy and the endurance of the human spirit.

Enough To Drive You Mad marks the second recorded collaboration between project founder Milton Scott and award-winning composer and singer/songwriter/producer Jason "Halogen" Dunn. Milton and Dunn began working together with the B-side of 2019's Split album, which expanded THE PRESENT MOMENT'S minimalist synth sound with the addition of live instruments and shifting arrangements, a melding of worlds that continues to allow Milton's haunting voice and gift for lyrical imagery to paint new characters and scenes over a lush landscape of shimmering guitars, driving bass lines, and pummeling drum loops - in concert with the hypnotic arpeggio lines and synth soundscapes that the band's fans hold dear.

Check out the album's tracklist and the listen to his pulsating and hypnotic new single "Dharma", below.

Watch: Foals Release New Single/Video "Looking High"

Oxford UK indie rockers Foals have released the video for their newest single "Looking High".

The song is part of our current playlist and is taken from their forthcoming new album 'Life Is Yours', which will be released later this Summer. Get it here.

Speaking about it, frontman Yannis Philippakis explains: This is looking back to a more hedonistic time in my life, and a more innocent time in society in general, pre-pandemic and before the existential threat of climate change. It takes place in an alley in Oxford with two clubs – The Cellar and The Wheatsheaf – that all the city’s nightlife gravitated towards. It was before clubs started to close down and our cities started to change into more corporate, arid places. There’s an element of being haunted by nightlife that’s no longer there.”

"While many people think this is a political song, it is NOT. It is merely a song listing things that cats definitely are not."
