Caged Animals have unveiled the video for their new single "Cindy + Me", out on 17th June via Lucky Number, ahead of a new album later this year.

About the song, Vincent explained: "Cindy + Me’ is my attempt at capturing some sinister version of the adolescent dream. It's an outlaw love song, based around a sample from synthesizer-pioneer Raymond Scott's 'Cindy Electronium.' In the song, I'm a crazed teenager in love, running away from home with the girl and some twisted view of the future. We've got her father tied up in the house, a smoldering corpse, we've got the cash, "We're living on top of the world," and we're going to get away with it.”

The video, featuring Vincent Cacchione, Magali Charron and the baboons: Jack, Janet, Jonas, Jojo, J.Lo and Jeremiah in the leading roles (pls take it seriously), was directed by Carlos Lopez Estrada. Watch it below.

The Horrors Confirm New Album Is Almost Finished

The Horrors have confirmed that they've nearly finished their new album, the follow-up to 2011's 'Skying'.

Speaking to NME, bassist Rhys Webb revealed: "We're right at the end of the recording process and ready to roll. We're recording 11 tracks. It's sounding very exciting."

"I always think there is more in common with out albums than a lot of people say, but we always want to move forward as a band and make something better than what we have done before, and I think we have definitely been successful with that. Faris [Badwan, singer] is sounding fantastic too – I think it's the best he has ever sounded."

About the potential first single from the album, Webb added: "It's a very upbeat song full of electronic oscillations. 'Euphoric' is definitely a good word to describe the way it sounds."

The album is scheduled for release later this year, presumably through XL, the band’s current home.

Watch: Bleech Release New Video For "Not Like You"

London band Bleech have revealed a new video for "Not Like You", the lead single of their forthcoming sophomore album 'Humble Sky'. The single will be released physically and digitally on 1st July.

Sarah Bick provided the visuals, and this was the concept that she used for this video: "Interpreting your concept of ugly/beautiful, I ran the clean Epic edit through a VHS player, and filmed it back off of an old cathode TV. This gives the video that special broken interlace and grungy colourway which can't be mimicked digitally. And there's the ugly/beautiful contrast of the soft young boy raving with head bangers and sweaty palms.

The motifs of the song like cloak appear, and the 'house in the countryside' appears twice, first seeing himself in it (before the stairs) and lastly leaving it literally going up in smoke at the end. His motion has been synced to the track, with jumps, spins and looks punctuating lyrics.

The suggestion of a school setting, absent of others subtlely brings up feelings of growth, hiding out or taking on, being left behind, or reacting against the natural order and of those in charge. The equation juggling of life, running out and going against the tide. He's on his own, he's not looking to others for how he should be"

Watch: Mazes Share "Bodies" Music Video

London based-trio Mazes have shared the video for "Bodies", the latest single taken from their new album 'Ores & Minerals', released back in February via FatCat Records. The song is part of our current playlist www.koolrockradio.com.

'Bodies' it's been around since last year, but it has been officially released as a digital single this Monday.

The video was directed by AC Williams of Vision Fortune, who explained:

"The idea of the video came from the idea that we as humans are inevitably attracted to both moving image and still imagery such as photography and painting. The video explores and raises questions about the parallels between these two mediums: we see the subjects sitting as still as possible for these 'video' portraits, subtle nuances appear on closer inspection as we the audience see eyes blinking and twitching."

Nine Inch Nails To Release New Album Later This Year

Trent Reznor has officially confirmed that his best known project, Nine Inch Nails will return with the follow-up to 2008's The Slip, later this year.

Reznor has revealed that he's been secretly working on the as-yet-untitled new album with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder, last year. The album will be released via Columbia Records.

For the last year I’ve been secretly working non-stop with Atticus Ross and Alan Moulder on a new, full-length NINE INCH NAILS record, which I am happy to say is finished and frankly fucking great. This is the real impetus and motivation behind the decision to assemble a new band and tour again. My forays into film, HOW TO DESTROY ANGELS and other projects really stimulated me creatively and I decided to focus that energy on taking Nine Inch Nails to a new place. Here we go!"

In related news Trent Reznor recently revealed that band's former guitarist Robin Finck will rejoin the group for their forthcoming tour. "I am proud to announce that the tour lineup now includes the incredible Robin Finck. The addition of Robin to the mix of players I've assembled makes this band incredibly powerful and versatile." Single of the Week May 27/13 - Climbing Boys "Bone House"

Our new Single of the Week is "Bone House", another great track taken from Climbing Boys recently released debut EP 'Take The Floor'.

Formed in late 2012, this London post-punk foursome are our featured band this month, take a look HERE

Bone House is one hundred percent post-punk, it begins with distinct riffs of bass and guitar that nods to influences from Joy Division (Transmission), blended with a strong driving beat and the distinctive voice of lead singer, Tom Salo.  It's excellent!

About the song, our friend Tom Salo told us:

"The original draft of the lyrics for 'Bone House' has actually been around since my teenage years and was lyrically intended to be a teenagers retort to the song 'Teenage Wildlife' by David Bowie. It deals with themes such as juvenile excess and disillusionment. Everybody has their ups and downs and I guess I wrote this one when I felt my chips were down."

Album of the Week May 20/13: Visage - 'Hearts And Knives'

Our New album of the week is 'Hearts And Knives' by new romantic pioneers Visage. It is the band's first album in 29 years.

Frontman Steve Strange reformed Visage — which split in 1985 after three albums — several years ago, recruiting the band’s latter-period bassist Steve Barnacle,  former Ultravox and Magazine guitarist Robin Simon and new singer Lauren Duvall.

About the decision to revive Visage, Strange said:

“It was a question really of all the parts falling into place. Firstly, I am at a point in my life where I have been clean for 10 years and I am happy with my life and, secondly, the positive people I now surro9und myself with —not least the members of Visage — helped to create an atmosphere where the album started to happen. It took us three years and it was no easy ride, but it’s here now and we are all really pleased with it.”

Hearts and Knives is a solid album with a pure synth sound, keeping the band's classic sounds. Welcome back Mr. Strange!

'Hearts & Knives' tracklist:

01. Never Enough
02. Shameless Fashion
03. She's Electric (Coming Around)
04. Hidden Sign
05. On We Go
06. Dreamer I Know

Single of the Week May 18/13 - Kid Astray "Like You Care"

Our new Single Of The Week is "Like You Care" by Oslo indie-pop band Kid Astray.

This six-piece band first caught our attention last year with the released of their debut single "The Mess", which was wrote, recorded, mixed and mastered in only six hours.

They released their 5-track debut EP 'Easily Led Astray' in March via Brilliance Records. All the tracks credited to the brilliant songwriting and musicianship that lies within this talented bunch, and takes you on a journey through heavy 80's like synth landscapes, britpopy guitars and solid vocal harmonies.

"Like You Care" is another catchy cut taken from the EP, which you can get it now on iTunes. Stream the track below.

Watch: Jinja Safari Share "Plagiarist" Music Video

Sydney-based indie band Jinja Safari have shared the video for "Plagiarist", taken from their self-titled debut album out now via Island Records. The song is part of our current playlist www.koolrockradio.com

The self-titled record is a mixture of international flavours. Jinja Safari's frontman Marcus Azon and producer and collaborator Pepa Knight travelled across a range on continents, allowing themselves to be influenced by the sounds they heard in India, Cambodia, Indonesia, the UK, the US, Germany, Canada and Uganda, where town is located that inspired the band’s name.

"Because we're so heavily influenced by world music it was important for us to visit places, and reflect as much of that back into our music. All of those places were a really important part of creating this album. We wanted it to be authentic – not just an outsider’s perspective. There's a lot of stories here. said Azon."

Bloc Party Confirm They Are Working On New Material

Bloc Party's guitarist Russell Lissack has confirmed that they are back in the studio working on new music.

Speaking to Miami New Times, Lissack revealed that they've been working on six tracks, including 'Children Of The Future', the new song they have performed at their live shows.

"We still need to do the vocals, but we've been working on six new songs. Depending on how the finished things pan out, we're either going to put out a single or an EP. I think in June or July. That ['Children Of The Future'] is one of the songs that could potentially be on it." Lisssack said.

"I think all six songs are very different. I think all the records we've made have been quite eclectic, and this EP is no different. I'm not sure ultimately what songs will be released, but there's quite a variety of songs and sounds coming up."

"I was listening to a lot more electronic music the last few months, stuff like Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs and Deadmau5. Then the last few weeks, I've really made an effort to listen to some guitar music again. I was finding it really difficult to get inspired by guitar music recently. I listened to the album by Everything Everything and Foals, and they were both really good." He added.

Listen: Visage Tease Another New Song "Diaries of a Madman" - Day 9

Visage have posted another teaser of a new song  from their forthcoming album 'Hearts and Knives', out next week (May 20th). It's turn for track number 9.

Day 9 - "Diaries of a Madman"

What they said about the song:

"'Madman' was the first song to be made for the album and was written with Dave Formula who was in Visage from 1978 to 1983. The lyrics are a tongue and cheek repost to Steve’s detractors. In album full of programmed beats and precisely placed instruments this song stands alone with a punkier and live sound. Screaming guitars, at-you vocals and pounding bass guitar are the perfect foil for the sex-dwarf style stabby synth."
