New Entry: Warm Graves Drop New Single "Sound Sleeper"

Leipzig-based sci-fi/wave/experimental outfit Warm Graves (the moniker of composer Jonas Wehner) have dropped their new single "Sound Sleeper".

The song is taken from their forthcoming sohpomore album 'Ease', which will be available on February 25th through Fuzz Club. Pre-order your copy here.

The record arrives seven years on from their 2014 debut album ‘Ships Will Come’. This seven-year gestation between the two albums brings with it a transformation in the creative process of Warm Graves, much like the human body exchanges its cells every seven years – our human bodies being both the same and wholly other. “For me, ‘Ease’ always comes back to the idea of transformation”, Wehner says: “In this case, from struggle to ease, choirs to whispers, rush to patience, light to dark. Those 7 years didn’t pass lightly. Life took a lot of turns and I had a lot to learn. It’s all in there compressed in 9 tracks.”

New Entry: Big Black Delta Shares New Single "Canary"

Los Angeles native musician, producer and vocalist Jonathan Bates aka Big Black Delta has revealed the video for his brand new single "Canary".

The song is out now and is taken from his forthcoming album '4', set to arrive on July 10th. Pre-order it here.

Speaking about it, Bates explained: “In elementary school in Miami, all the kids would meet on the playground before school started. Groups of mostly girls, and a few brave boys, would do stomp/clap routines and compete with each other. Even then when I closed my eyes I saw crazy lights, colours and shapes to their routines.

“Now that I’m older and have the ability, I made a song that does that, times a million. With headphones, if I could show what I see, you’d get sunburned. In Sammy Hagar terms.”

Watch: Big Black Delta Reveals New Single/Video "Lord Only Knows"

Los Angeles native musician, producer and vocalist Jonathan Bates aka Big Black Delta has revealed the video for his brand new single "Lord Only Knows".

The song is out now and is taken from his forthcoming album '4', set to arrive on July 10th. Pre-order it here.

"Getting things off to a glorious start with heavyweight guitars and lush hooks, "Lord Only Knows" is a mission statement set to major-keyed avant-pop music. According to Bates, "It starts like Whitesnake and ends like Liberace," reflecting a renewed interest in heavy-metal (see also: some breakthrough sessions with Dhani Harrison.) “Through therapy and proper medication, I’d hit a new place as a conscious being. Being of service was this warm, bright light that I wanted to be near. This song is that to me. When I close my eyes I see the shape, colors and probability waveform of where I’m trying to go. If that makes sense.”

New Entry: The Horrors' Tom Furse Drops New Track "Run To Me Pt. 3"

Tom Furse, member of the eclectic post punk band The Horrors, and synth wizard has dropped his groovy new  track "Run To Me Pt. 3".

The track is taken from his forthcoming new EP 'Run To Me Suite' (one opus divided into five cohesive parts), set to be released on 9th October via Django Django member Dave Maclean's Kick + Clap label. Pre-order it here.

Referencing early techno it has one foot in Cologne and the other in Detroit, with its tightly worked, precise machino-florescence, condensed and upfront, and free of the pomposity that abounds in the genre. A sound enamored with Kraftwerk, Juan Atkins and Yello, it underpins a latent narrative on themes of love, machines and obliteration.

"I had this notion of robots being called to arms by a mother robot, in order to collect suns to build a giant engine powered by 20,000 suns. I know it’s not really apparent in the songs, but visual ideas like that drive me forward when I’m making music, it just seems to make it easier; like putting sound to film." Furse told DIY.

Big Black Delta Announces New Album 'Tragame Tierra', Airs "It’s OK"

Los Angeles native musician, producer and vocalist Jonathan Bates aka Big Black Delta has announced plans to release his new album titled 'Tragame Tierra' in January 2016.

The record is available to pre-order now via Pledge Music. The announcement on his Facebook page reads:

Hey buddy,
I am pleased to announce a new Big Black Delta record “Tragame Tierra.” Leading up to the release we’ll be giving you behind the scenes content, available exclusively to those who order at PledgeMusic. We’ll be sharing some new stuff you won’t see anywhere else and you can claim bonus items. To help celebrate, I want to give you a new song off the record, “It’s OK.”

"It's OK" was inspired by a series of difficult events that occurred during the last year. Losing my father, finding that all of my gear was stolen, and losing one of my best friends to cancer. Since going public with some of this news, I have been inundated with incredible kindness and thoughtful support from friends, musicians, fans and strangers alike. This song is a thank you. A gesture of gratitude to everyone who has been kind — and to the universe itself.

Have a listen to "It's OK" and watch a trailer for the album below.

Watch: Big Black Delta Unveils "Love You This Summer" Music Video

Los Angeles native musician, producer and vocalist Jonathan Bates aka Big Black Delta has unveiled the video for "Love You This Summer", taken from his self-titled album, released back in April via Master Of Bates.

The track serves as the b-side to the record's second single 'Money Rain Down'.

The video was directed by Nicolás Prados of 7 Inch Videos, and uses vintage footage from the legendary film 'Badlands', starring Sissy Spacek. Prados said of the project "'Love You This Summer', set to 'Badlands', is an effort to express the need people have to escape our everyday realities and live an adventure. It seeks to echo some of Freud's writings concerning civilization, and how humans tend to idealize nature, forgetting its violent essence, but more importantly, ignoring the frustration and anxiety inside us that provokes this discontent. The video adresses escapism and tries to convey how violence is part of human nature, laying beneath our fantasies and actions."
