Crying Vessel Announce New LP 'Before Life Was Death'

USA//Switzerland gothic/post punk duo Crying Vessel have announced the release of their new studio album 'Before Life Was Death'.

The dark and mesmerizing new record from heavily acclaimed duo of producer/vocalist Slade Templeton and percussionist Basil Oberli, will be out on July 22 through Cleopatra Records. Pre-order your copy here

Speaking about the album, the duo said: "The album is compiled of all the styles Crying Vessel has been known for on previous albums and EP’s or features. It is heavy as we have ever been but also as light and floaty as we will ever be. It has a bit for everyone. We are most excited about this because of the energy it has. The flow and storytelling. It also, unlike the last album that was fully conceptual, is also made to be listened to as single or song-standalone, or, as an album, whichever the listener prefers. Our last album “Pleasures for the Wicked” was extremely artsy and we experimented and found ourselves. This album “Before Life was Death” is where that album lead us to. As a song. As an album. As a band."

Watch: Cola Release New Single/Video "Fulton Park"

Canadian indie rock/alt Cola have released the video for their new single "Fulton Park".

The song is taken from their debut full-length album 'Deep in View', out this Friday, May 20th via Fire Talk & Next Door. Pee-order it here.

Cola is the new project from former Ought members Tim Darcy and Ben Stidworthy and US Girls/The Weather Station drummer Evan Cartwright.

Speaking about the song, Tim says: "Ben and I had a flow writing this record where we would send each other demos every Friday.  It was a really motivating way to write, as I would spend the week working on something but then get the bonus of hearing what Ben had written when I sent him my track.  I heard Fulton Park and was immediately excited to work on vocals for it.  It’s such an interesting instrumental.  These lush almost psychedelic guitars in the intro and chorus are paired with this really stripped down almost honky tonk verse.  It conjured in my mind this kind of old west imagery.  I suppose looking back on the lyrics now, that same kind of juxtaposition is present.  Similar to Landers, it takes a look at the natural world and then the odd, magical, sometimes empty things that humans do on that landscape."

Watch: Jogger Reveals Music Video For "BRD Noir"

Berlin bedroom-rock/post punk new solo project Jogger (aka Florian Nikolai) has revealed the video his new latest "BRD Noir".

The song serves as the title track of his upcoming debut studio album 'BRD Noir', out this Friday, May 20 through CUT SURFACE. Get it here.

From Jogger: In the song, the 'BRD Noir' is the name of a fictional pub and opens a place where we are all welcome, where togetherness is determined by diversity and free thought.

On the other hand, the name is reminiscent of a dusty, conservative West Germany, of dark Germany, terms like Ossi and Wessi, a failed reunification policy and right-wing violence.

But in Jogger's fictional pub there is NO room for racists, outdated thought patterns and intolerance! On the contrary, 'BRD Noir' creates a space for diversity and change, at the same time warns that the past must not be forgotten & that freedom should not be taken for granted.
