The song is part of our current playlist and is taken from their forthcoming EP 'Love Among Angry People', which will be available on May 6 . Get it here.

Speaking about it, Clutterbuck says: “’Lover’ was inspired by the ominous feeling of an inevitable break up, where there’s an uncomfortable tension in the air that you can’t put your finger on. I wrote the song to build throughout, similar to how arguments and tensions are going to come to a head, until mid-way through the track when everything comes crashing down, tempers boil over and you’re left with the mess to clean up”

New Entry: Allegories Air New Single "Always True"

Hamilton, ON electronic-pop duo Allegories (comprised of Adam Bentley and Jordan Mitchell) have aired their new single "Always True".

The song is taken from their forthcoming sophomore album 'Endless', their first album in 14 years, set for release on April 29 through Hidden Pony Records. Get it here.

"Always True" feels like the dark part at the end of the night. The wrong side of 5am. A dark warehouse bouncing to ominous synth pads and 909s. "Always True" has a sudden surge of energy, a second wind, one more dance while the night wears off. The song is built on a simple refrain, with slight variations, in both lyrics and performance. These changes alter the true meaning of the song, obscuring the narrator's intentions, and the arrangements shadow those shifts.

New Entry: Bauhaus Return With New Single "Drink The New Wine"

British post-punk pioneers Bauhaus have returned with their brand new single "Drink The New Wine", their first in 14 years.

Recorded during lockdown with the four members sharing audio files, this is the band's first new material since their 2008 release “Go Away White”. The band used the Surrealist’s “Exquisite Corpse” device: each artist adds to the piece without hearing what the others have done. Kevin provided a prerecorded beat, and the four musicians each had one minute/eight tracks at their disposal plus a shared sixty seconds/four tracks for a composite at the end. None of them heard what the others had recorded until the tracks were put together.

Drink the New Wine” refers to the very first “Exquisite Corpse” drawing rendered by André Breton, Marcel Duchamp, Jacques Prévert and Yves Tanguy which included the sentence “The exquisite corpse will drink the new wine.

It’s really about recognizing that the game is coming to an end and about trying to steal a moment of tenderness with your partner before the curtain comes crashing down. I think it’s about trying to find moments where you can really connect with someone amidst all of the chaos that’s going on in the world.”

The Runner follows a strange woman as she travels to a secluded, rural town where her violent compulsions are slowly revealed. The story intertwines with band Boy Harsher performing on a public access channel. Their music scores the strange woman's descent deeper into the unknown.
