Tears For Fears Announce 'The Tipping Point', First Album In 17 Years

British new wave legends Tears For Fears have announced the release of their new studio album 'The Tipping Point', their first in 17 years.

Some forty years into one of music’s most impactful partnerships, Tears For Fears have arrived together at The Tipping Point – the group’s ambitious, accomplished and surprising first new studio album in nearly two decades. An inspired song cycle that vividly recalls the depth and emotional force of the group’s earliest triumphs, The Tipping Point is the bold, beautiful and powerful sound of Tears For Fears finding themselves together all over again.

Set to be released on February 25th via Concord Records, 'The Tipping Point' re-unites core duo Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith for the first time since 2004's ‘Everybody Loves A Happy Ending’. Pre-order your copy here.

“Before everything went so right with this album, everything first had to go wrong, it took years, but something happens when we put our heads together,” Orzabal explained. “We’ve got this balance, this push-me-pull-you thing – and it works really well.”

Smith added: “If that balance doesn’t work on a Tears For Fears album, the whole thing just doesn’t work. To put it in simple terms, a Tears For Fears record and what people perceive to be the sound of Tears For Fears – is the stuff we can both agree on.”

The new project re-unites Tears For Fears with Charlton Pettus, as well as producers and songwriters Sacha Skarbek and Florian Reutter.

Watch: Spacey Jane Premiere New Single/Video "Lunchtime"

Perth garage pop/indie rock band Spacey Jane have premiered their new single "Lunchtime", and its accompanying video.

The song, recorded in WA with Dave Parkin (who produced Spacey Jane's debut album) and mixed by Rich Costey, the Grammy-winning producer known for his work with Phoebe Bridgers, The Killers, The Wombats,  is out today (October 7). Grab your copy here.

Speaking about it, frontman Caleb Harper explains: "I wrote this song while experiencing severe hangover anxiety and feeling extremely hopeless. I'm trying to explain how I feel like I'm just going through the motions with love, career, friends and family. I felt like everything was just happening because it had to and not because I cared about it."

Watch: Mazy Reveal Music Video For "Flowers"

Aussie indie rock/alt band Mazy have revealed the video for their newest single "Flowers".

The song is part of our current playlist and came out last month (September 16) now through Sweat It Out. Get it here.

Tackling the songwriting process from a whole new angle, and paying homage to some of their favourite musicians, the trio share, “This track was definitely a fun one to work on. We wanted to dive into a 60’s sound palette that we all love and see where it took us. A lot of the time we’ll write songs completely on an acoustic before thinking about production so tackling this one using the experience as the inspiration was a nice change.  Brian Wilson is a massive influence for us and we definitely took a nod to him with the harmonies in the chorus. We wanted the sonic vibe to really paint the lyric and create a colourful, mercurial world that was unpredictable and.. yeah, psychedelic. We love playing this track live and the faster tempo and high energy is a welcome change from some of our slower songs.”
