Watch: Crystal Cities Drop "I Hear a Cold Wind Calling" New Video

Sydney indie/dream pop band Crystal Cities have dropped the video for "I Hear a Cold Wind Calling".

The song is taken from their debut album 'Under The Cold Light Of The Moon', which came out in May. Buy it here.

The character in the music video is sick of trying to control and micro-manage the outcomes of his chaotic world which in reality he has no control over. He is looking for something deep within himself, something more primal, more spiritual; something that is hard to find in capitalist Western culture. He hears ‘a cold wind calling’ and is turning his back on the things he’s built his life around; instead seeking and submitting to the answers he finds in the natural world so he can find a true sense of self and purpose. -JK

Watch: Family Jools Share New Single/Video "California Sun"

Bristol indie rock band Family Jools have shared the video for their new single "California Sun".

Speaking about the song, frontman George explains: “California Sun’ is about someone we used to know who liked to party with the band. In the end, they kind of drifted away from us. A mutual thing I think. It happens. The lyric ‘You’re my California sunshine looking for that good time, where did I go wrong?’ It’s not a judgement. More an observation. I just put it in a song. “

It will be out tomorrow (July 26th). Grab it here.

Black Marble Announces New LP 'Bigger Than Life', Shares "One Eye Open"

Brooklyn, NY // L.A synth-wave artist Black Marble (aka Chris Stewart) has announced the release of his third studio album 'Bigger Than Life'.

The follow-up to 2016's It's Immaterialwill be out on October 25th through Sacred Bones Records, featuring his excellent new single "One Eye Open". Pre-order it here

“The album comes out of seeing and experiencing a lot of turmoil but wanting to create something positive out of it,” Stewart explains. “I wanted to take a less selfish approach on this record. Maybe I’m just getting older, but that approach starts to feel a little self-indulgent. Like, ‘Oh, look at me I’m so complicated, I get that life isn’t fair,’ It’s like, yeah, so does everyone. So with this record, it’s less about how I see things and more about the way things just are. Seeing myself as a part of a lineage of people trying to do a little something instead of trying to create a platform for myself individually.”

As with every Black Marble album, Stewart recorded, produced, and played everything you hear on Bigger Than Life using entirely analog gear, though the process was new. This time around, he wrote everything on his MPC and sequenced it live to his synths — only using the computer to record, not to create. “I try new approaches every time, which helps me stay engaged but also its kind of a trick I play on the creative side of my brain,” Stewart says. “Keeping one side of my mind busy on organizational creativity I think frees up the other side where the inspirational creativity comes from.”

Check out the album's tracklist and watch the video for "One Eye Open", below.

Watch: Creux Lies Drop Lyric Video For New Single "Made"

Sacramento, California post-punk/new wave/dark wave band Creux Lies have dropped a lyric video for their new single "Made".

"The Mafia allure (especially through cinema) on my childhood crept its way into my headspace during the production of this one. This song reflected and felt like its own scene outside of "The Hearth," so we held on to it for later. Nonetheless, Made lives in the nexus point of the prevailing political landscape and my psychic scream. It identifies itself through the term for a certain kind of new criminal culture I would like to see. Something like mythology akin to Yorkshire's hood - this song is a gesture to the rabble-rousers who are ready to party harder than the new Hobbian leviathans breaching here in the west. No more tilting at windmills, let's get down." -Ean Clevenger

The song is out tomorrow (July 26th), buy it here and watch the clip below.
