Watch: Foals Return With New Single/Video "Wake Me Up"

Oxford UK indie rockers Foals have returned with their new single "Wake Me Up", alongside an accompanying music video.

The song is out today (November 4) via Transgressive/Warner Bros. Grab it here.

Frontman Yannis Philippakis explains: “There’s a journey that the band has gone on experimenting with different palettes of sound. This time there was a desire to take it back to more of the initial idea of the band where the rhythm, the grooves and the guitars are interlocking architecturally. We wanted to tap into the physicality of music. And we wanted it to feel good.”

“With ‘Wake Me Up’, I just wanted to write a song about transporting yourself to a better, idyllic situation. I think we all had that feeling of the last eighteen months being like a weird fever dream that felt surreal but very affecting. I think we all wished we could have woken up somewhere else at various points.”

New Entry: Shame Share New Single "This Side of the Sun"

South London post punk/indie rock band Shame have  shared their new single "This Side of the Sun".

“The whole song came together on the day we recorded it at the studio. It’s also the first live recording we’ve ever done, we didn’t want it to sound overworked. It’s a pure banger, listen with a piƱa colada in your left hand,” the band said.

The band' sophomore album 'Drunk Tank Pink', came out earlier this year via Dead Oceans.

Watch: SURE Air New Single/Video "Uphill"

Paris-based dark/post-punk/cold wave band SURE have aired the video for their new single "Uphill".

The song is taken from their upcoming new EP 'Nineteen Years', set to be released on November 26. Pre-order your copy here.

Nineteen Years offers two new tracks, marking SURE’s diverse influences. «In Control» takes us by surprise, brilliantly highlighting the band’s electronic side and revealing their techno side. While «Uphill» touches on the British sounds of New Order or The Cure, before turning into a tormented storm.

This tracklisting would not be complete without three other nuggets that fans know well. To find comfort and to lull yourself towards the approaching winter, SURE unveils piano versions of «Morrows» and «Sinking Story», both taken from Twenty Years. More than a muffled atmosphere, it’s Grouper’s lo-fi spleen that is summoned here. And last but not least, we’re finally entitled to «Shout», a cover of the Tears For Fears’ hit, which has been played live for a long time and, as we can easily guess, is still appreciated!

Nineteen Years, or one year less as the world clock continues to tick. A new therapeutic EP for SURE, a translation of the desire not to let apathy get the better of us, and to keep hoping to reunite with each other.

Watch: SPRINTS Share Music Video For "Modern Job"

Dublin-based post-punk/garage band SPRINTS have shared the video for their latest single "Modern Job".

The song is part of our current playlist and is taken from their forthcoming new EP ‘Modern Job’ set to arrive on March 11th via Nice Swan Records. Grab it here

On the new single, singer Karla Chubb says: “Modern Job is a critique of modern existence but also an exploration of growing up queer. In your formative years, you are bombarded with media, books, news that depict what a “normal” life should be. Grow up, fall in love, get married… long live the nuclear family.

By contrast when you grow up queer all these ordinary things can seem extraordinary, out of reach and in some parts of the world, illegal. It leaves you feeling lost, excluded and confused. I wanted Modern Job to capture those feelings; chaotic energy, loneliness and longing of normality while trying to find acceptance within yourself.”

The video shows the band at their most blistering and visceral, lampooning traditional values with their unique blend of cathartic energy. Watch it below.
