Watch: Strange Talk Share "Climbing Walls" New Video Version

Australian alt/electro-pop quartet Strange Talk have shared a new video version for "Climbing Walls"

The song is a classic tune here on Kool Rock Radio, it peaked at #30 in our Best Tracks of 2011 chart and and is taken from their self-titled EP released through Neon Gold Records in April 2011 (Wind-up released an updated version of this EP June 4, 2013). 

The band' self-produced debut full length 'Cast Away' was released in October via Wind-up Records.

About the the red convertible used in the clip, frontman Stephen Docker says: "The car may look flashy, but it was so hard to drive, especially with a massive camera mounted on the hood, it's completely blocking my vision whilst driving on winding roads in the hills of Malibu… After two long days of filming, it still baffles me how we didn't get pulled over once by the police. [It was] by far the most challenging video I've had to shoot so far, but a lot of fun."

The song is taken from from the band's self titled debut album, released in October via Liberation.

Melbourne indie four-piece World's End Press have revealed the video for "Reformation Age", the third taste of their forthcoming self titled debut album, out on October 4th via Liberation.

'Reformation Age' is produced by Tim Goldsworthy (The Rapture, Cut Copy + more). The album will also feature the previous releases "To Send Our Love" and "Deadbeat Sweetheart."

World's End Press To Release Self Titled Debut Album In October

Melbourne-based indie quartet World's End Press will release their long awaited eponymous debut album on October 4th via Liberation.

Produced by DFA/Mo Wax legend Tim Goldsworthy (the producer behind Cut Copy, The Rapture, Hercules & Love Affair, etc.) at residential Welsh studio Rockfield, the album will feature early singles such as "Only the Brave" and "Second Day Uptown" as well as popular hits "To Send Our Love"and "Deadbeat Sweetheart".

Single of the Week August 05/2013: Gold Fields "Thunder"

Our new Single of the Week is "Thunder" by Australian indie dance quintet Gold Fields.

The song has been on high rotation on KRR for a few months now, and is taken from the band's well received debut album 'Black Sun', released in March via Astralwerks. 

'Black Sun' is the product of a journey that began in the summer of 2011, when the band decamped to Los Angeles to spend six weeks working with producer Mickey Petralia (Ladytron, Peaches) and then retreated to a remote Australian farm manor to continue writing songs, which they later recorded with Scott Horscroft (The Presets, Sleepy Jackson, Silverchair) as co-producer/engineer. However, after learning a lot from both Horscroft and Petralia, Gold Fields decided to re-record and produce the whole album themselves in Mark's parents garage in Ballarat.

Thunder, like most of the songs on the album, is catchy and danceable. Below, you can watch fan footage of the band performing the song live in Brisbane.

Sydney-based indie band Jinja Safari have shared the video for "Plagiarist", taken from their self-titled debut album out now via Island Records. The song is part of our current playlist www.koolrockradio.com. 

The self-titled record is a mixture of international flavours. Jinja Safari's frontman Marcus Azon and producer and collaborator Pepa Knight travelled across a range on continents, allowing themselves to be influenced by the sounds they heard in India, Cambodia, Indonesia, the UK, the US, Germany, Canada and Uganda, where town is located that inspired the band’s name.

"Because we're so heavily influenced by world music it was important for us to visit places, and reflect as much of that back into our music. All of those places were a really important part of creating this album. We wanted it to be authentic – not just an outsider’s perspective. There's a lot of stories here. said Azon."
