London based rock n' roll/garage band The Velvet Hands have aired the video for their new single "I Wanna Be There".

The song is taken from their forthcoming second album due for release late 2022. Get it here.

Focused on finding optimism amongst all the agitation, vocalist and guitarist Toby explains: “”I Wanna Be There” is about everybody around you seemingly knowing exactly what they’re doing with their lives, whilst you’re still trying to shake off last night’s hangover and wondering when your life is going to properly start. It’s about looking around and realising that you’ve come much further than you think and that maybe everyone else feels the same.” “It was the first track that we wrote for the album and was the one that guided where we were going. We want to make music that inspires kids to form bands: simple, passionate and energetic.”

The Velvet Hands Air New Single/Video "Holiday In My Head"

London based rock n' roll/garage band The Velvet Hands have aired the video for their new single "Holiday In My Head".

The song was recorded at Cube Studios Cornwall, produced and mixed by John Logan and Jamx Jules, and is the first single from their forthcoming second album due for release late 2022. Get it here.

Speaking about it, guitarist Dan says; "“It’s based on our own experience of the doldrums of being skint, working your arse off to be able to afford a postage stamp sized flat, only to have to shave in the kitchen sink because the landlord won’t fix the one in the bathroom. Take that and then put it in lockdown, it felt like the walls were closing in — very claustrophobic. You can’t escape to anywhere apart from your own daydreams. The song is an anthem of escapism in the modern era”.

The Rolling Stones Share Previously Unheard Song "Troubles A’ Comin"

Veteran rockers The Rolling Stones have shared their previously unreleased song "Troubles A’ Comin".

The song, originally released by the Chi-Lites in 1970, features on the ir upcoming release 'Tattoo You 40th Anniversary', set to arrive on OCtober 22 via Polydor/Interscope/UMe. Pre-order it here.

A whole new experience… 9 new unheard tracks (including ‘Troubles A' Comin’ & ‘Living In The Heart Of Love’) alongside an all-new 2021 remaster of the classic album & Stones infamous Wembley Stadium ‘82 live show.

‘Troubles A-Comin’ was recorded in 1979 at Compass Point Studios in Bahamas. The song was written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. In an interview with Variety recently Mick Jagger said, “we never finished it. It didn’t have proper vocals or finished guitar solos. But I know how to do this now. You find a track that’s got a groove and if there’s an idea, you run with the idea and make some fun with it, do some extra things. It comes alive a bit more”.

Amyl and The Sniffers Announce New LP 'Comfort To Me', Stream "Guided By Angels"

Melbourne punk /rock band Amyl and The Sniffers have announced the release of their sophomore album 'Comfort To Me'.

The follow-up ro 2019' self-titled debut, will be out on September 10th via Rough Trade Records (UK/Europe), ATO (North America), featuring their punchy new single "Guided By Angels". Pre-order it here.

Written over a long year of lockdown, the album was influenced by and expanded on a heavier pool of references – old-school rock’n’roll (AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, Motörhead and Wendy O Williams), modern hardcore (Warthog and Power Trip) and the steady homeland heroes (Coloured Balls and Cosmic Psychos). 

Lyrically, the album was influenced by Taylor’s rap idols and countless garage bands. Seventeen songs were recorded in the Comfort to Me sessions and the top 13 made the cut. They were mixed long-distance by Nick Launay (Nick Cave, IDLES, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and mastered by Bernie Grundman (Michael Jackson, Prince, Dr Dre).

In her own words, Amy Taylor says of the record, “If you have to explain what this record is like, I reckon it’s like watching an episode of The Nanny but the setting is an Australian car show and the Nanny cares about social issues and she’s read a couple of books, and Mr Sheffield is drinking beer in the sun. It’s a Mitsubishi Lancer going slightly over the speed limit in a school zone. It’s realising how good it is to wear track pants in bed. It’s having someone who wants to cook you dinner when you’re really shattered. It’s me shadow-boxing on stage, covered in sweat, instead of sitting quietly in the corner”

Love was not found but ‘Star’ was. It’s a big two fingers up at reality culture and the selling of ones dignity for fame.”
