Nile Marr Returns With New Single "Lonely Hearts Killers"

Manchester singer/songwriter Nile Marr has returned with his new single "Lonely Hearts Killers".

Following on from 2020's debut album 'Are You Happy Now?', Manchester's Nile Marr returns with Self Care, the first track off his sophomore LP 'Lonely Hearts Killers'.

"I wanted to this one to feel different to my previous album. Songs came out quickerand I mostly recorded it at night in the Mill, I just tried to go with the late night vibe" says Marr.

"I got back into listening to all the bands that made me want to write songs in the first place, like the Lilys and Neil Finn. I guess the whole album was trying to focus on song writing, and because I couldn’t play live during lockdown, I focussed more on song writing rather than ‘I know this works at our live shows', so I feel like this one differs in every wayfrom my previous album".

For fans of Broken Social Scene, Big Star and Elliott Smith, 'Lonely Hearts Killers' is released on vinyl, Friday 3rd February 2023, on Oldham Street Records.

It opens with distorted guitars before the beat surges with the synthesiser and uplifting guitars, as they sing, “These are the days that follow you home”, followed by the refrain, “I think we’re gonna be OK”. Watch: Inhaler Unleash Music Video For "When It Breaks"

Dublin rock n roll four-piece Inhaler have unleashed the video for their recent single "When It Breaks".

The song is part of our current playlist and is out now via Polydor Records. Grab it here

The band's words: “We wrote the song in the last couple of months. Over lockdown we were floating around the instrumental demo, it was dark but also pretty hopeful sounding. When we went back to the studio over the summer and really got to put our heads together again, we felt like we had to write something about what was going on and how we felt about it.

“Coming off tour into lockdown was a huge adjustment for us after we had just got used to life on the tour. At first, it was a welcome break but pretty soon we were dying to get back to any festival or any gig where we could get our fix! The lyrics and the music communicate the anxiousness of how we were all feeling and still are now a couple months later. It’s definitely the most politically-driven song we’ve released so far. It’s our interpretation of this strange and imperfect world we’ve come to live in. Things are gonna change and we are gonna be there when they do.”
