The Paranoyds Unleash New Single/Video "Freak Out"

L.A. punk/garage rock quartet The Paranoyds have unleashed a live video for their new single "Freak Out".

The song is taken from their new album 'Talk Talk Talk', out today Septmber 9th via Third Man Records. Get your copy here

"Freak Out" embodies an otherworldly, massive crush that is impossible to ignore, complete with call-and-response style vocals that reinforce it. The track ultimately inspired the title of the forthcoming album as it includes the words, "talk, talk, talk" several times throughout. Guitarist and vocalist Lexi Funston adds that the song is about, "having a big ol', out-of-control, teenage crush. There are flashes where you realize that you might be coming on a bit too strong, but they are BRIEF, and you continue to lose yourself to the obsession. You can’t help it!"

Its accompanying DIY video was shot over the course of December 2021 through May 2022 by Funston and friends. It peels back the curtain and documents the band in their most natural state, from the studio, to the stage and in the moment.

Sorry Unleash New Single/Video "Let The Lights On"

London garage rock/post punk/alt band Sorry have the video for their new single "Let The Lights On".

The song is taken from the forthcoming album 'Anywhere But Here', set to arrive on October 7th via Domino. Pre-order your copy here.

London once again features as a prominent character on Sorry’s second album. ’If our first version of London in 925 was innocent and fresh-faced, then this is rougher around the edges. It's a much more haggard place,’ Louis says. Earwigged conversations, text messages, snatched speech recorded underground; the city’s discarded words fed into the lyrics which map the experience of urban life on a young and frustrated generation. Produced alongside Portishead’s Adrian Utley in Bristol, the result is an angular, acerbic, bittersweet triumph.

The Paranoyds Announce New LP 'Talk Talk Talk', Stream "Lizzie"

L.A. punk/garage rock quartet The Paranoyds have announced the release of their new studio album 'Talk Talk Talk'.

Fueled by the fiery energy of their live shows paired with raw lyricism and subtle social commentary, this new album will be out on Septmber 9th via Third Man Records, and sees the band taking their artistry to new heights. Pre-order your copy here

Talk Talk Talk is largely a combination of sci-fi and sentimental songs penned by the group. Lead single "Lizzie" has a robotic nature that evokes Devo and Industrial Hammer Factory with the warmth of lo-fi punk vocals.

The JJ Stratford-directed music video for 'Lizzie' sees the band launched into space, sporting robotic movements in silver costumes and ornate tin-foil headwear. It's a retro-futuristic daydream that nostalgically calls back to visuals of decades past while imagining what the future may look like, all while diving into the celestial realm of an otherwordly crush.

Watch: This Daze Share New Single/Video "Cigarette Smile"

Norwegian indie/garage rock band This Daze have shared the video for their new single "Cigarette Smile".

The song is out today, March 11th via Listen Loud Records/AWAL. Get it here.

Speaking about it, the band said: “‘Cigarette Smile’ is the colourful person outside the pub with a cig between their lips. The song portrays adolescent themes of distant love together with the figurative and literal fear of meeting each other. The lyric “pick me up in your painted life” represents the wish of getting swept up by the romanticised picture you make upon meeting someone for the first time. If this image is flawed or genuine it does not matter for young adults taking chances. This song for us encapsulates the feelings of youth and being young. We feel that both the lyrics, the attitude of our performances and the urgency of the song reflects being young.”

Watch: Eades Unleash "Delusion Spree" Music Video

Leeds garage rock/new wave/post-punk band Eades have unleashed the video for their latest single "Delusion Spree".

The song is part of our current playlist and is taken from  their highly-anticipated debut album 'Delusion Spree', set to be released on March 4th 2022 on Heist or Hit. Pre-order your copy here.

From the band: “’Delusion Spree’ was a very special song for the band when writing the album, finishing the song felt like a turning point when we finally knew how we wanted the album to sound, and the direction we were headed in lyrically and sonically. It kind of opened the floodgates for the rest of the tunes!"

“Thematically it summed up the disillusionment and confusion we all felt in our early twenties, trying to build a life for ourselves whilst the world around us seemed to be falling apart. Two years on I think we all feel quite differently towards the world and we’ve learnt to be a lot more positive as our hard work over the last couple years has started to pay off. Although at the time I think it’s safe to say we were all feeling pretty lost.”

Body Type Announce Debut Album, Stream "Sex & Rage"

Sydney jangle pop/rock band Body Type have announced the release of their debut full-length album 'Everything Is Dangerous But Nothing's Surprising'.

Recorded and mastered by Jonathan Boulet, the 11 new tracks sound joyfully anarchic, bursting with life and autonomy. It’s an album all about yanking back control, embracing abandon and purging despair, told through the grizzly margins of wiry garage-pop and energetic post-punk.

It will be out on May 20 via Poison City Records . Pre-order your copy here.

Speaking about the new single vocalist Sophie McComish explains: “‘Sex & Rage”is a reflection on finding passion amidst feverish banality. When you are uninspired, when you feel sad that the general public would rather look at their phone screens than what’s hanging on the walls of the Louvre; when lovers leave you just like they always do and everything feels like a cliché – remember the feelings that set you aflame, and the things that make those feelings happen. For me, it’s Body Type and cryptic crosswords.”

Check out the album's tracklist and watch the video for "Sex & Rage" below.

Everything Is Dangerous But Nothing's Surprising Tracklist:
01.A Line
02.The Brood

The 12-track record will be out on March 4th 2022 on Heist or Hit, featuring their new single "Ever Changing", and their previous track "Reno". Pre-order your copy here.

Lyricist Tom O’Reilly notes, “At that time I was finding myself in a lot of situations with self-involved characters that I had no interest in, purely because they’re an easy distraction from everything I didn’t want to think about. I kept jumping from toxic relationships to chaotic friendships without thinking I could take a step back and centre myself to actually tackle real problems. ‘Ever Changing’ is about burying my head in the sand and avoiding real issues in my life. It’s about finding new ways to procrastinate and change to make each day feel more exciting than it really is.”

The song is out today, November 12 through Listen Loud Records/AWAL. Get it here.

From the band: “Battling out the ever prevalent fight between internal and external forces, ‘Skiptracing’ crosses the intersection of finding oneself and finding ones place in others. Watch: Eades Share New Single/Video "Reno"

Leeds garage rock/new wave//post-punk band Eades have shared the video for their new single "Reno".

The song is out today (October 13)  via Heist or Hit. Get it here.

'Reno’ is a situational story of someone who has given up on the ‘right way to be’ and goes out to deliberately commit arson in an attempt to ‘save’ the people around him from feelings of monotony or apathy. Told from three perspectives: witnesses to the event, the perpetrator and an intoxicated pub philosopher attempting to comment on the state of affairs in a way that sounds much more profound than it really is – the latter a satire of the lyrical clickbait of modern post-punk bands who insist on vapidly talking over a groove in an attempt to intelligently lampoon the zeitgeist it also contains a character from Jonny Cash’s ‘Folsom Prison Blues’. - Pat Fogarty (Heist or Hit).
