New Entry: Broka and Scottibrains Reveal New Single "Wrong Party"

Polish artist Brodka and in-house Speedy band Scottibrains (made up of label boss Carey, Boxed In’s Oli Bayston and drummer Liam Hutton) have revealed their collaborative new single "Wrong Party".

The result is classic Speedy – with the sound harking back to the earliest/first in the labels releases. It’s punk and pop and catchy as hell. Like Toy meets Blondie but with that signature Scottibrains motorik beat underpinning everything until it erupts into a moment of ecstasy/chaos as the song progresses. And it feels like a real transformative moment for the Polish singer/song-writer – her cool-as-ice delivery ushering in a new phase for her – with a new album currently on the horizon.

Watch: Telegram Unveil Music Video For Debut Single "Follow"

London-based emerging psych-rock band, Telegram have unveiled the video for their debut single "Follow".

Comprised by singer Matt Saunders, guitarist Matt Wood, bassist Oli Paget-Moon and drummer Jordan Cook, the quartet formed a year ago, when Saunders, Wood and Cook were "sharing a bottle of WKD, playing Needles In The Camel's Eye by Brian Eno, and thought, "Let's start a band like this!" About their music style, Moon says: "Lots of people try and call it psych-rock or shoegaze, but… I mean, we just wear boots – bootgaze!."

They've been building a reputation through some London shows (as well as a recent support slot for the Manic Street Preachers in Newport), and they're set for a lengthy run of live dates beginning next month in support of Bo Ningen, Temples and Palma Violets.

"Follow", produced by Dan Carey (Franz Ferdinand, Toy, Chairlift, Bat For Lashes and Steve Mason), will be out on November 4 through their own label, GramGram Records, and is backed with the track "Under The Night Time".

Bloc Party To Release New EP 'The Nextwave Sessions' In August

Bloc Party have announced the release of a new EP titled 'The Nextwave Sessions', due out August 13th via Frenchkiss Records

According to the press release "across its 5 tracks, the EP amalgamates the visceral energy of the bands live shows with bright studio sheen, and Kele's lyrics and vocals at their most uncompromisingly biting. From the slow-motion, trance-haunted balladry of ‘Obscene’ to the shimmering swells and skipping percussion of 'Montreal', to ‘French Exit’ that is fuelled by the bands trademark sharp angular riffs and combustible dynamics, and ending on a grand and impassioned note with the forward-looking 'Children Of The Future' - the ‘NEXTWAVE sessions' is essential, unmissable Bloc Party."

The band worked with renowned producer Dan Carey (whose credits include records with Bat For Lashes, Lianna La Havas and Hot Chip) on the two tracks that open the EP - 'Ratchet' and 'Obscene'.

The Nextwave Sessions Tracklist:

01. Ratchet
02. Obsence
03. French Exit
04. Montreal
05. Children Of The Future

“Ratchet” will serve as the EP’s lead track. Talking about the track Kele says: "Ratchet was the first song we recorded with Dan. It really came together whilst we were on tour in 2012. We started slipping it into the sets at the start of this year just to try it out and the reactions were insane. We knew we had something special."

The track will be accompanied by a must-see video directed by acclaimed animator Cyriak.Watch fan footage of the band performing the track live.
