Lusts Announce New LP 'Call Of The Void', Stream New Single "True Romance"
The follow-up to 2015's debut 'Illuminations' will be out on November 16. Pre-order your copy here.
About the record, the duo say: “The album is about the feeling of standing on the edge of something high up and getting the urge to jump, it’s not necessarily about a death wish, more, paradoxically, it’s about wanting to live and how the mind has strange ways of expressing that. We felt like it’s a really accurate reflection of what we want to achieve musically - some of what we create could be seen as being quite dark thematically, but there’s a positivity to what we do, there’s a light there even in the darkness, and we want to uncover and explore that.”
They have also shared their new single "True Romance". Take a listen below the album's tracklist.

New Entry: Lusts Premiere New Single "Lost Highway"
About the track, Andy Stone said: “‘lost highway' is an idealized and romanticized vision, it’s about finding a place where no-one knows who you are, your past, or your future. It is partially inspired by Jean Baudrillard’s book ‘America’ and his observations as he travels across the country. The quote, ‘Driving is a spectacular form of amnesia. Everything is to be discovered, everything to be obliterated’ resonated with us and made us want to create this track. It’s about the everything and nothing-ness of escape.”

New Entry: Lusts Premiere New Single "Ten Years"
About the track, the band sais: ‘Ten Years’ is a song that challenges us. It’s about artificial intelligence, it’s about romance, nostalgia, disappointment, gender, and memories. It’s a collision of thoughts that ask us who we are, what we’ll be, as well as reflecting on what we’re not. Part of the song was written by generative A.I. and we wrote the rest. Who contributed more is still open to debate."

New Entry: Lusts Return With New Single "Heavy Thoughts"
With lyrics partly inspired by J.G Ballard’s High Rise, Andrew speaks on the track:
“We always want to juxtapose ideas and themes — looking for a utopia in the darkness. We wanted to create a song that simultaneously revelled in destructiveness, whilst also critiquing it. The book really shocked me growing up, and continues to do so. This track is about pushing us to explore parts of ourselves and the people around us.”
The track was also inspired by the immersive visuals of Andrei Tarkovsky’s Stalker, James saying:
“As writers, we’re constantly drawn to how visual imagery can explain a feeling in a more honest and visceral way than a description ever could. We want to create alternative landscapes and worlds to dive into and lose yourself for awhile.”
The band released their debut album 'Illuminations' in 2015.

Leicester alternative/new wave duo Lusts have dropped their excellent cover version of "I Follow Rivers".
The original version of the song features on Swedish recording artist Lykke Li's 2011 album 'Wounded Rhymes'. British singer-songwriter Marika Hackman included a cover on her 2014 Deaf Heat EP.

Lusts To Release Debut Album 'Illuminations' This Month
Leicester alternative/new wave duo Lusts have announced they will release their debut album 'Illuminations' on Rocktober 23 through 1965 Records.
Lusts are two brothers (Andy and James Stone) evoking both the classic woozy chorus' and reverb laden guitars of Echo and the Bunnymen and the new wave pop sensibilities of Beach Fossils.
The album was produced by MJ from Hookworms in his Leeds studio, it "combines distorted organs and synths with fuzz guitars and a driving choruses of 'uplifting misery'."

Watch: Lusts Premiere Music Video For "Waves"

About the video the band posted: "From the start, the intention for the Waves video was to explore imagery beyond the obvious route of water, and instead focus on the lyrics and the meaning of the song. We sat down with the directors Youth Hymns and discussed our different ideas for visually representing this.
We were inspired by Virginia Woolf’s ‘The Waves’, the visuals of oscilloscopes, and the idea of constant movement, of a force beyond your control pulling you towards something. Then came their idea of the tunnel, an almost b-movie vibe, and a character falling down with us. The video has a kind of gothic, hypnotic feel, which pays homage to the aesthetics of cult sci-fi and horror. With added Jazzmasters."

LUSTS - Band of the Month January 2015
Comprised by brothers Andy and James Stone, they have revealed themselves with their ultra addictive debut single "Temptation".
Mixed by MJ of Hookworms, the track evokes both the classic woozy chorus' and reverb laden guitars of Echo and the Bunnymen and the new wave pop sensibilities of Beach Fossils.
The band are the first to sign to the recently re-launched band manager and rock'n'roll raconteur James Endeacott's label 1965 Records, and will release the AA-side single "Temptation"/"Cross" via digital download on 12th January and 7” on 2nd March.
