Watch: Eades Unleash "Delusion Spree" Music Video

Leeds garage rock/new wave/post-punk band Eades have unleashed the video for their latest single "Delusion Spree".

The song is part of our current playlist and is taken from  their highly-anticipated debut album 'Delusion Spree', set to be released on March 4th 2022 on Heist or Hit. Pre-order your copy here.

From the band: “’Delusion Spree’ was a very special song for the band when writing the album, finishing the song felt like a turning point when we finally knew how we wanted the album to sound, and the direction we were headed in lyrically and sonically. It kind of opened the floodgates for the rest of the tunes!"

“Thematically it summed up the disillusionment and confusion we all felt in our early twenties, trying to build a life for ourselves whilst the world around us seemed to be falling apart. Two years on I think we all feel quite differently towards the world and we’ve learnt to be a lot more positive as our hard work over the last couple years has started to pay off. Although at the time I think it’s safe to say we were all feeling pretty lost.”

Eades Announce Debut LP 'Delusion Spree', Stream "Ever Changing"

Leeds garage rock/new wave//post-punk band Eades have announced the release of their highly-anticipated debut album 'Delusion Spree'.

The 12-track record will be out on March 4th 2022 on Heist or Hit, featuring their new single "Ever Changing", and their previous track "Reno". Pre-order your copy here.

Lyricist Tom O’Reilly notes, “At that time I was finding myself in a lot of situations with self-involved characters that I had no interest in, purely because they’re an easy distraction from everything I didn’t want to think about. I kept jumping from toxic relationships to chaotic friendships without thinking I could take a step back and centre myself to actually tackle real problems. ‘Ever Changing’ is about burying my head in the sand and avoiding real issues in my life. It’s about finding new ways to procrastinate and change to make each day feel more exciting than it really is.”

Watch: Eades Share New Single/Video "Reno"

Leeds garage rock/new wave//post-punk band Eades have shared the video for their new single "Reno".

The song is out today (October 13)  via Heist or Hit. Get it here.

'Reno’ is a situational story of someone who has given up on the ‘right way to be’ and goes out to deliberately commit arson in an attempt to ‘save’ the people around him from feelings of monotony or apathy. Told from three perspectives: witnesses to the event, the perpetrator and an intoxicated pub philosopher attempting to comment on the state of affairs in a way that sounds much more profound than it really is – the latter a satire of the lyrical clickbait of modern post-punk bands who insist on vapidly talking over a groove in an attempt to intelligently lampoon the zeitgeist it also contains a character from Jonny Cash’s ‘Folsom Prison Blues’. - Pat Fogarty (Heist or Hit).

New Entry: Eades Share New Single "Present In The Moment"

Leeds garage rock/new wave//post-punk band Eades have unleashed their new single "Present In The Moment".

The song is out today (March 24) and is taken from their upcoming sophomore EP 'Abstract Education', which will be out on April 30th via Heist or Hit. Get it here.

Speaking about it, vocalist Harry Jordan says, “I was away on holiday with my girlfriend in Australia for 3 weeks, and by the last week I was itching to get back and write some music. When I haven’t done any music in a while I go a bit stir crazy and start getting really agitated and go off into my own little world inside my head. I wrote the lyrics just after we’d had an argument because apparently I wasn’t “present in the moment”… I hate to admit it but she was probably right. I swear I’m not normally that angsty.”

Watch: Eades Unleash New Single "Former Warnings Cluster"

Leeds garage rock/new wave//post-punk band Eades have unleashed their new single "Former Warnings Cluster".

The song is out today (February 17) via Heist or Hit. Get it here.

Speaking about it, vocalist Harry Jordan says, “’Former Warnings Cluster’ is probably our most ambitious recording yet. We’ve always felt we didn’t match our live sound, so we decided to shake up the process. It was recorded live in my basement, with vocals and a few overdubs added later. This allowed us to be a lot more free with the performance, speeding up and slowing down to take the song on a bit of a journey. It was also the first time we’ve ever recorded to tape, which added a load of other hurdles to overcome, but I think the final product is a lot more true to who we are as a band moving forward.”

“It’s about getting into good habits and then ruining them; about reinventing yourself time and time again to no avail,” he continues. “It follows a protagonist who ultimately ends up in the gutter thinking over the red flags he’s ignored as an ambulance approaches.”
