Watch: RVG Drop Music Video For New Single "Alexandra"

Melbourne indie rock/alt band RVG have dropped the video for their brand new single"Alexandra".

The song, produced by PJ Harvey and Nick Cave collaborator Victor Van Vugt, will feature on the band's upcoming sophomore album.

“Alexandra is a song which came together quickly, but which felt like it uncompromisingly needed to be recorded,” says frontwoman/songwriter Romy Vager. “The lyrics, [which] describe a story of personal oppression at the hands of one’s community, [are] an allegory for the broader oppression marginalized people are subjected to.”

Melbourne indie rock/alt band RVG have unveiled their new single "Vincent Van Gogh".

Originally self-released in Australia last year, the concise 8-track album has a stark, raw intensity to it, recorded live off the floor, at Melbourne’s iconic rock’n’roll pub, The Tote and while leaning on the band’s heroes —the Go-Betweens, the Soft Boys, the Smiths— these are songs that never sound like homage or pastiche hitting that sweet spot between light and dark, employing guitars both angular and jangling.

Hoops Announce Debut LP 'Routines', Share "Rules"

Bloomington, IN indie pop/lo-fi band Hoops have announced the release of their debut full-length album 'Routines'.

The 11-track album will be out on May 6 via Fat Possum Records. The band have also shared their summery  new single "Rules".

About the track, the band told TheFader: "We tried to mix things up a little more with these songs than we did with our other releases, but we still wanted this one to be a true-to-form guitar banger compacted into a short timeframe. We always have a lot of fun taking a big, loud, song like this one and making it more concise. Drum machines are also sick.”

Yung Announce Debut LP 'A Youthful Dream', Share New Single "Pills"

Danish indie rock band Yung have announced they will release their debut full length album titled 'A Youthful Dream' on June 10 via Fat Possum Records.

The band have shared the album's first single "Pills". 

About the track frontman Mikkel Holm Silkjær told The Fader: "Pills was one of the first songs I wrote for this album, and I've used the song as a sort of navigation point for what I wanted the rest of the record to sound and feel like. Thematically, the lyrics speak for themselves. People think the key to sanity in modern day society is pills."
