Watch: Sleaford Mods Drop "I Don't Rate You (Orbital Remix)"

Nottingham indie rock/punk duo Sleaford Mods (aka Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn) have  dropped the video for the Orbital remix of their track "I Don't Rate You".

I Don't Rate You Orbital & Extnddntwrk remixes is out now, get it here. The original version of the song is taken from their sixth studio album 'Spare Ribs', released earlier this year via Rough Trade.

Orbital made most other contemporaries look daft in the early days of dance music. You couldn’t even begin to figure out where they were coming from. It totally belonged to them at that time and indeed carried on being so.

I Don’t Rate You, for me, was inspired by early rave, The Prodigy and Orbital, LFO. That’s the vibe I got when Andrew sent the music through. We both use the benchmark of this kind of music when assessing what’s going to be the best formula for hard hitting tunes. You can’t mess with it. And now we have a remix by one of these hard hitters. It’s proper.

Watch: Sleaford Mods Unveil New Single/Video "Nudge It" Ft. Amy Taylor

Nottingham indie rock/punk duo Sleaford Mods (aka Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn) have  unveiled the video for their new single "Nudge It", featuring Amy Taylor from Amyl and The Sniffers.

The song is taken from their forthcoming sixth studio album 'Spare Ribs', set to arrive on January 15 2021 via Rough Trade. Pre-order your copy here.

From the duo: "Imagine you’ve got limited options, unsure how you’re getting by that week, looking out the window of the damp flat you don’t want to live in, and seeing a bunch of posers having a photo shoot because ‘cool architecture bro, we feel your pain’.

Reduced circumstance isn’t a pantomime. If you haven’t lived within its confines don’t use it to enamour your ideas. It confuses the platform for those that truly live it and more often than not buries creative breakthroughs because the arena is polluted by the view of their world through someone else’s privileged lense.

So beware the eager networkers, don’t settle for the 20p payout, nudge it, pop the posers. And don’t apologise for the fucker either."

Watch: Sleaford Mods Reveal New Single/Video "Shortcummings"

Nottingham indie rock/punk duo Sleaford Mods (aka Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn) have  revealed the video for their new single "Shortcummings".

The song is taken from their forthcoming sixth studio album 'Spare Ribs', set to arrive on January 15 2021 via Rough Trade. Pre-order your copy here.

Jason's words: "I wrote the lyrics to Shortcummings in late 2019 after becoming annoyed by Dominic Cummings increased unelected presence. The arrogance of the privileged generally leads to short, short short, short, short cummings in a momentary centre stage at the cost of untold human misery and exploitation of public money. In the case of Cummings who exactly knows what he lost when he walked out of No10’s front door. It looked staged or given what I suspect is his sense of intellectual superiority, perhaps one last show of bizarre defiance. But there is no defiance when you come from privileged stock, just pistols at dawn. Posh hamsters going at each other. It’s just so fucking tiresome, as we lumpily coexist, us and the elite. The fortress of control is too strong and indeed there is no denying now, that there is powerlessness in the idea of revolt in this modern day daylight robbery.

It's not all bad. Andrew's served up a filthy baseline on this, one of his finest, plus I look really fit in the video.. "

Sleaford Mods Announce New LP 'Spare Ribs', Stream "Mork n Mindy Ft. Billy Nomates"

Nottingham indie rock/punk duo Sleaford Mods (aka Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn) have announced the release of their sixth studio album 'Spare Ribs'.

The follow-up to 2019's Eton Alive, featuring Amy Taylor of Melbourne punks Amyl and the Sniffers and the British newcomer Billy Nomates, finds the duo charged with ire at the UK Government’s sense of entitlement, epitomized by its devil-may-care approach to the coronavirus crisis. It will be out on January 15 2021 via Rough Trade. Pre-order your copy here.

Recorded in lockdown in a furious three-week studio blitz at JT Soar in July, the polemical Jason Williamson and dexterous producer Andrew Fearn kick against the pricks with unrivalled bite, railing against hypocrisy, inequality and apathy with their inimitable, scabrous sense of humour.

Commenting on the new album Jason says, “'Our lives are expendable under most governments, secondary under a system of monetary rule. We are stock if you like, parts on a shelf for the purposes of profit, discarded at any moment if fabricated or non-fabricated crisis threatens productivity. This is constant, obviously and notably in the current pandemic. The masses cannot be present in the minds of ill-fitting leaders, surely? Or else the realisation of their catastrophic management would cripple their minds. Much like the human body can still survive without a full set of ribs we are all 'spare ribs’, preservation for capitalism, through ignorance and remote rule, available for parts.”

The band have also shared the video for their new single "Mork n Mindy" Ft. Billy Nomates, described as "the sound of the central heating and the dying smells of Sunday dinner in a house on an estate in 1982. Concrete, dinted garages, nicotine. Where beauty mainly exists in small cracks on the shell of your imagination."

Sleaford Mods Announce New Album 'Eton Alive', Stream "Flipside"

Nottingham indie rock/punk duo Sleaford Mods (aka Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn) have announced the release of their fifth studio album 'Eton Alive'.

Sleaford Mods are one of the most important, politically charged and thought-provoking duos currently making their mark on the UK music scene and beyond.

The new album was recorded in Nottingham, it features 12 new tracks from the prolific artists, and will be out on February 22 2019 via the duo's newly formed label Extreme Eating. Pre-order your copy here.

“Eton Alive speaks for itself really. Here we are once again in the middle of another elitist plan being digested slowly as we wait to be turned into faeces once more. Some already are, some are dead and the rest of us erode in the belly of prehistoric ideology which depending on our abilities and willingness, assigns to each of us varying levels of comfort that range from horrible to reasonably acceptable, based on contribution.

So after the digestive system of the Nobles rejects our inedible bones we exit the Arse of Rule, we fall into the toilet again and at the mercy of whatever policies are holding order in the shit pipe of this tatty civilisation. It is here our flesh regenerates as we rattle into another form, ready, and ripe for order”.  – Jason Williamson ‘Eton Alive’

New Entry: Sleaford Mods Release New Single "Stick In A Five And Go"

Nottingham indie rock/punk duo Sleaford Mods (aka Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn) have released their new single "Stick In A Five And Go".

The song is taken from their just announced upcoming EP 'Sleaford Mods', set to arrive on September 14th via Rough Trade Records. Pre-order your copy here.

This is the band’s first new music since last year’s top 15 album English Tapas. The five-track EP was recorded in Spring 2018 in Nottingham.

Jason Williamson says about the new songs “the lead tracks are mostly full of violent tendencies that only transpire through imagination. People are powerless under the political monster and the intense anger and frustration morphs into illusions of attacking each other through the bravado of social media, depression and paranoia.”

Watch: Sleaford Mods Reveal Music Video For "Moptop"

Nottingham indie rock/punk duo Sleaford Mods (aka Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn) have revealed the video for "Moptop".

Frontman Jason Williamson explains that the song is “based around the disgusting lie that is Boris Johnson, the wannabe Churchill (we don’t need another one). The song also discusses the void that is modern music, internet attention spans, one dimensional acts and the current trend of reformed bands looking to cash in with PR heavy assaults that try to conceal their pointlessness.”

it is taken from their brand new album 'English Tapas', which came out last Friday (March 3rd) via Rough Trade Records. Get your copy here.

Watch: Sleaford Mods Drop Music Video For "Silly Me"

Nottingham indie rock/punk duo Sleaford Mods (aka Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn) have dropped the video for their current single "Silly Me".

The song is part of our current playlist and is taken from their latest album 'Key Markets', which came out on 10 July via Harbinger Sound. Buy it here.

About the track, the band explained: "Silly Me is about the long tunnel, the one that has no light. Another week spent walking up and down the street. The quiet tension of your living room with its shit sofa. The unconfirmed nature of 'doing' instead of 'trying'. It’s that realisation that all you have to work with is your own failure, it's the only starting point you have and to ignore it, to dismiss the reasons why unhappiness is still haunting you is a mistake. It's your ticket out of misery if you keep trying to confront it because eventually persistence rules. Not all the time though. This isn't one of those fucking smug acid jazz positivity yawns. Large numbers of people have fuck all and that won't change. That's horrible. ‘Silly Me’ is just one experience over Andrew’s solid, hard funk loop."
