New Entry: W. H. Lung Air "Inspiration! (Kid Machine Manctalo Rework)"

Manchester psych/post-punk band W. H. Lung have aired the Kid Machine Manctalo Rework of their song "Inspiration!".

The remix is taken from their upcoming release 'Incidental Music Remixed', a set of album remixes which were originally created as a bonus item CD for Piccadilly Records, who made W H Lung's debut 'Incidental Music' their no.1 release of the year in 2019. 

 Now, almost a year on, the remixes finally see the light of day digitally - featuring fresh takes on the tracks from the likes of Fujiya & Miyagi, Kid Machine, Kayla Painter, RUMA, Boredom and more. It will be out on December 11th via Melodic Records, pre-order here.

New Entry: W. H. Lung Unveil New Single "Symmetry"

Manchester psych/post-punk band W. H. Lung have unveiled their new single "Symmetry".

The song is out today (October 29) via Melodic Records. Get it here.

'Symmetry' takes you for a wander through their hometown of Manchester via scattered statues (Alan Turing, Friedrich Engels, Queen Victoria) whilst highlighting the massive homeless problem in the city.

 Singer Joseph E. "There’s a statue of Alan Turing in a small park just off canal street in Manchester city centre. The statue has always struck me as odd, the face is quite childishly done and Turing seems to be offering his fruit to passers-by. People often sit with him and take pictures. The park is also regularly attended by the homeless community of Manchester. As visible a presence on the streets now as the statues of the great and famous.".

W. H. Lung Announce Debut LP 'Incidental Music', Stream "Simpatico People"

Manchester psych/post-punk band W. H. Lung have announced the release of their long-awaited debut album 'Incidental Music'.

Set to arrive on on April 5 via Melodic Records, the album was recorded in stints with Matt Peel, who they credit as having a key role. “When we recorded ‘Inspiration!’ none of us had a clue about synths or drum machines,” says Tom S.. “Matt had his own modular set-up and we started turning to that more and more.” 

W. H. Lung have allowed this album to naturally gestate over the course of two years, avoiding the temptation to rush a release on the back of a bit of buzz. The result is a remarkably considered debut. The production is crisp and pristine but not over-polished, the synths and electronics radiate and hum with a golden aura and the vocals weave between tender delivery and forceful eruptions. There is a palpable energy to all the songs which sound more like the offerings of a band at their creative peak, hitting full stride..

The song, produced by Matt Peel (Eagulls, Autobahn) is out now via their own Hed Glo Inc. label, and and is described by the band as “a song that speaks to the ideas of eternity, belonging and meaninglessness.”

Autobahn Announce Debut Album 'Dissemble', Air New Track "Immaterial Man"

Leeds-based post-punk band Autobahn have announced they will release their debut studio album 'Dissemble', on 21st August via Tough Love.

The ten-track album will be out was recorded with Matt Peel at The Nave, a hometown studio situated in the wholly appropriate setting of a disused church. The band co-produced the record with Peel over six intense weeks at the start of 2015, dedicating all of their time to the studio and taking potentially unhealthy cues from the legacy of notorious obsessive, Martin Hannett. The result is an album that pushes the band through various degrees of light and shade, but ultimately into new, unexpected sonic spaces.

High Hazels Announce Self-titled Debut Album

Sheffield indie rock/psych band High Hazels have announced they will release their highly anticipated self-titled debut album in Rocktober 27th via Heist Or Hit Records. 

The album, produced by Matt Peel, features 10-tracks and follows the release of their debut single 'Hearts Are Breaking' on 7" in 2013, their debut EP 'In The Half Light' which was released in April, and their recently released new single "Misbehave".

Watch: China Rats Unveil "N.O.M.O.N.E.Y (No Money)" Music Video

Leeds indie rock four-piece China Rats have unveil the video for N.O.M.O.N.E.Y. (No Money), the new single taken from their forthcoming EP Don't Play With Fire, which will be out on October 14.

China Rats are inspired by a love of punk rock and the classic British guitar bands. The new EP was recorded in Cottage Road Studios in Leeds and produced and mixed by Matt Peel (Eagulls, Pulled Apart By Horses).

The animated video was directed by Richard Swarbrick, and it's all about money. Watch it below.
