New Entry: Johnny Hunter Premiere New Single "Endless Days"

Australian post punk/alt band Johnny Hunter have premiered their new single "Endless Days".

The song is out now through Cooking Vinyl Australia. Get it here.

Behind 'Endless Days': An ode to the happiness one can experience in the naivety of youth. Blissfully unaware of turmoils, a lifetime was lived within a second, Romance was born, friendships eternal and days were endless.

The lyrics were inspired by my move back to Sydney and written in the back of Xanders family Volo on our way to a gig we were playing to about 10 people. Taking influence from Bowie’s Scary Monsters album and nods to The Smiths, The Queen is Dead.

Gerry had made the long journey from the Deep South of NSW to play drums with a couple of misfit uni students he’d never officially met before. It was in this fateful meeting that the song was written, the first song that birthed the conception of Johnny Hunter.

A surprising challenge in the studio, we spent the whole day on the drums and defeated we decided to call it a day. We woke up, had our ritual coffee and Gerry smashed it out in 20 minutes.

New Entry: Johnny Hunter Return With New Single "Cry Like A Man"

Australian post punk/alt band Johnny Hunter have returned with their new single "Cry Like A Man".

The song is out now through Cooking Vinyl Australia. Get it here.

Behind 'Cry Like A Man':

"Cry Like A Man calls upon the embracism of vulnerability. Men often abuse their masculinity to shield their vulnerability, in doing so they jeopardise the balance of the two dualities, they lose their sense of humanity and sense of self, to satisfy the self-aggrandizing fallacy that the world belongs to them.

I had been placed in the unfortunate position of witnessing someone shrink into very selfish and abusive behaviour. It had been my first encounter with such an event and it shook me to my core. After the dust had settled, I couldn't help but dissect it.

A special song as it was written the first time I interacted with our producer Jack. The violent lyrics set the tone for the song and unravel the events that took place on that fateful night, written in a 6 hour brainstorm with Jack as I manically yelled lyrics whilst he then pulled them apart" - Nick Hutt.

Watch: Johnny Hunter Unleash Music Video For "Life"

Australian post punk/alt band Johnny Hunter have unleashed the video for their latest single "Life".

The song is part of our current playlist and came out last month through Cooking Vinyl Australia. Get it here.

Behind 'Life': "To find life is to find happiness, it is the ultimate end and purpose of our existence. Life is not found in the darkness of the night, nor is it found in selfish ideals. It lies in the balance of the new day and how we approach our imperfections to bring balance to ourselves. The answer to the floor, an ultimatum proposed to the self, to change or die, to sink or swim. The sun is shining, it's time for a change, appreciate what you have, know who you are and lose yourself in Life".
