Kasabian Share New Single "THE WALL"

British indie rockers Kasabian have shared for their new single "THE WALL".

The song is taken from their forthcoming new album "THE ALCHEMIST'S EUPHORIA", set to be released on August 5th via Columbia Records. Pre-order your copy here.

“The Wall was written probably a year ago, maybe even longer. Originally, it was about having a hangover, so it started off a little bit as a joke, but it doesn’t mean that anymore,” Serge Pizzorno says. “It’s weird you start at one place in your head and then as you finish it and read it back you go ‘Actually no, you know what…’ It’s perfect for this album. You hit a f*cking wall, but you get back up again.”

Watch: Kasabian Drop Music Video For "CHEMICALS"

British indie rockers Kasabian have dropped the video for their latest single "CHEMICALS".

The song is taken from their forthcoming new album "THE ALCHEMIST'S EUPHORIA", set to be released on August 5th via Columbia Records. Pre-order your copy here.

“It is me telling myself that it is going to be okay” Serge said of the track. “It was me seeing myself in those few weeks when everything kicked off. It’s the future me saying to that person: ‘This is shit, but don’t worry, it will get better.’ So having a song about talking to yourself is universal, I think. We all have to find a way to deal with the complications, the mess and the mortality of life.”

We took some time out, it's our fifth baby, we're more excited because we've stepped up a bit, stepped a lot up, actually."

About the nature of the art and album, guitarist Sergio Pizzorno said: "We had the confidence to be more direct, more honest with this album. I started to strip away layers rather than to just keep adding."

Ex-Kasabian Guitarist Chirs Karloff Returns With New Band Black Onassis

Former Kasabian guitarist and founder member Chris Karloff returns with his new band Black Onassis.

Karloff, who parted ways with Kasabian in 2006, relocated to New York City and has joined forces with local musician Nick Forde on the new adventure which also features a number of guest vocalists like Liela Moss of The Duke Spirit, Morgan Kibby of M83, Ben Gautrey of the Cooper Temple Clause and Steven Young of The Black Marquee.

Black Onassis will release their debut album 'Desensitized' on September 23 through Minus Man Records.

Reflecting the sound of his new project, Karloff said: "Electronic music to me is surprisingly soulful, there is a warmth that comes from the simplicity of sounds, something inconspicuously expressive and emotional. Growing up it was everywhere. Artists like Vangelis, Kraftwerk, The Prodigy and Tangerine Dream were massive influences on the songs I wrote with Kasabian, and even more so now. But rock music has always played a massive role as well, and I’m inspired by artists like Jimi Hendrix, Primal Scream and Nirvana. I try to fuse these two worlds to create the kind of music I want to listen to."

"Working with multiple singers makes writing every track a unique experience, a new musical adventure. A voice can change the whole dynamic of a song, and it’s really freeing and feels limitless to write without being constrained by the vocal abilities or stylings of one person." He added.

The band have also revealed their first single titled "Brain" (featuring Ben Gautrey), which is now part of our current playlist www.koolrockradio.com

Kasabian: There's A Rock N' Roll Drought In Music

In an interview with the Contact, the band said that they think the charts are 'overrun by pop' and that Kasabian are one of the only UK acts taking a risk with songs.

Kasabian guitarist and chief songwriter Serge Pizzorno said: There's a rock 'n' roll drought at the moment, so I'm glad we're here. People are frightened of making records that sound good on the radio. We've been overrun by pop and I hate that indie attitude. Life's too short to give a ****.

"I'm not religious, I don't think there's anything after this, so I'm here to have a good time and this is the one chance I've got. So get me the ****ing fur coat and let's crack on. One knobhead might go, 'Oh, I don't like that.' But who cares?" He added.

Meanwhile, Kasabian recently said that they believe that the band are built to headline festivals.

Kasabian To Release 'Epic' Album In October

Kasabian have promised fans an "epic" bout of new material on their forthcoming album.

Currently holed up in a studio in San Francisco, Kasabian are planning a number of festival slots this summer. Due to appear at RockNess, the Leicester group will also perform at Spain's Bilbao BBK.

Set to debut new material, it seems that the group's fourth album is almost complete.

Speaking to ThisIsLeicestershire, a rep from Sony / BMG explained that the group were at the mixing stage. Producer Dan The Automator has taken control, with sessions hidden away on the West Coast.

Continuing, guitarist Serge Pizzorno explained that the new album would be another "epic" instalment. "Well, it's epic," he claimed.

"It's big songs that make you feel like anything's possible. It's a really positive record. I suppose it's a combination of all three records but we've just taken it a bit further."
Continuing, the guitarist claimed that Kasabian aimed to improve with each record. "I'm really excited about it, because after the last record, people really liked it and wanted to know what was next, and I'm happy to say that it's got better. I'm excited about playing it live – there are tunes on there that are going to take people to a new place."

Kasabian are set to release their new album in October.
