The video was directed by Jack Barraclough and features frontman Vincent Neff playing a devil hell-bent on causing trouble. Barraclough words:
"As soon as I read the Django's brief for this I was like, YES! Apart from having to get 50+ shots done in one day this is the kinda thing I love directing and planning out. It was fun to take on the screwball comedy genre and cram lots of details into the video so it rewards repeat viewings, and you can enjoy spotting the continuity errors. Even though it’s a 'silly' concept, it is a hard thing to get right and make work - there’s a well established visual language to the genre that we were drawing upon and everyone - the cast and all the crew, did an amazing job pulling this together."

"The idea for the video came to me one evening in lock down. I’ve been heavily into sci-fi and the whole extra terrestrial thing since I was a kid reading books about the unexplained. It’s about someone who feels alienated in life and that idea is taken to the extreme where they’re actually feeling alienated because they don’t belong on this planet!" — Dave

Glowing in the Dark has a running theme of escape: from despair, from constraints, from small town life, and even, in dreams, from the Earth. The brilliant title track and new single, for instance, soars gloriously towards the stratosphere. A track built around a sample from one of Dave Maclean’s spoken word records then plushly upholstered with Moog synths and drum loops, it is accompanied by some eye strobing visuals from rapidly ascending NYC artist and illustrator Braulio Amado.

“The Swimming at Night chorus is about closing your eyes or being in the dark and swimming in your own world, your own thoughts,” Maclean adds; "The idea for the video came when we were in Palm Springs. The light and the colours there were extraordinary and were the inspiration behind some of the imagery in the video. That, combined with an old drawing that Tommy found, of a colourful deep blue sea full of creatures. The video was animated by Gemma Yin Taylor who did an amazing job at bringing to life the visual I had in my head”.
