Tahiti 80 Announce New LP 'Here With You', Stream "Lost In The Sound"

French edgy soft rock band Tahiti 80 have announced the release of their ninth studio album 'Here With You'.

The record was produced remotely due to the health crisis by Xavier Boyer (vocals, guitars), Médéric Gontier (guitars), Pedro Resende (bass), Raphael Léger (drums) and Hadrien Grange (keyboards), and will be out on March 25th, featuring their new single "Lost In The Sound" previous song "Hot". PRe-order your copy here.

Lost in the Sound, speaks of this hypnagogic state, between waking and sleeping, where one drifts by abandoning oneself to the mysterious forces of inspiration.

Here With You strikes immediately for its cohesion and diversity. Cohesion of an airy and radiant sound. The listener opens the window and heads for the final frontier: California, the Pacific Ocean, the promise of an endless summer. We will necessarily come across the ghosts of the Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac or Donald Fagen. Diversity of directions taken: Vintage Creem takes us on the side of the soul of the Jacksons Five, UFO hovers above a synthetic and dreamy G-funk (Dr Dre and Tangerine Dream met in an elevator?), Breakfast in LA sailing offshore with Christopher Cross and Aphex Twin, Hot sets Chic's ideal funk ablaze, Wicked Wicked propels us into the Bubble Factory of the Monkeys. If Here With You has the finery of a joyful and carefree album, the melancholy nevertheless points in the lyrics which scrutinize the game of appearances, which track the passage of time. “The body dances and the head thinks” as Xavier Boyer puts it so well. The end of the trip ends with Let's Get Started, a way for Tahiti 80 to reset the mileage before a new start?

Watch: Tahiti 80 Unleash New Single/Video "Hot"

French edgy soft rock band Tahiti 80 have unleashed the video for their new single "Hot".

“'Hot' started as some kind of jam with myself, I came up with the bass line and experimented with a Yamaha DJX keyboard. Originally, I had no words for it, just a groove with some weird synth gimmicks. I put it on our cloud and everybody picked up on it and came up with some super-cool parts. Eventually, I found the vocal melody about a fantasized claustrophobic love affair and that was it.” - Xavier Boyer

New Entry: The Cribs Drop New Single "Swinging At Shadows"

English indie rock band The Cribs have dropped their new single "Swinging At Shadows".

The song is taken from 'Sonic Blew Singles Club', 4 brand new 7” singles, one per month for the rest of 2021. Get it here

“Basically, after 3 years away from the road we just ended up with SO many songs built up in the vaults that we wanted to try doing something different and interesting with them!” Gary Jarman explains. “We had a bunch of extra tracks from the ‘Night Network’ sessions which we finished and mixed over lockdown…and then the extra downtime led to us coming up with several new songs also. Of course we could have just put them all to one side and held them back for a new album or whatever, but that doesn’t seem like much fun…

“Back in the day, we were always a band that were known for our B-sides - a concept that is pretty much irrelevant nowadays…we know that the fans miss this, so setting up the Sonic Blew Singles Club seemed like the ideal solution - we get to clear the vaults, and people get a guaranteed new single plus B-side every month.”
