Watch: Morrissey Premieres Music Video For "Back on the Chain Gang"

Morrissey has premiered the video for his cover version of The Pretender's classic "Back on the Chain Gang".

The track is taken for an upcoming double-vinyl reissue of his 2017's album Low In High School, expected to be released on December 7.

Morrissey and Hynde have a close friendship, and she’s appeared on Morrissey records like “My Love Life” and “Shame Is The Name.” Morrissey said a deep reverence for her and the Pretenders that motivated him to make the cover. “I think the original can safely be counted as a pop classic, and as always with the Pretenders, of the brain as well as the loins,” he told Rolling Stone. “Chrissie is always ready to do something before anyone expects it, and for me that’s a well-developed artist.”

Morrissey Details New LP, Airs Lyric Video For New Single "Spent the Day in Bed"

Morrissey has revealed full details of his upcoming new album titled 'Low In High School'.

The follow-up to 2014’s World Peace Is None Of Your Business, will be out on November 17th. Pre-order your copy here.

According to the press release, Low In High School was produced by Joe Chiccarelli and recorded at La Fabrique Studios in France and Ennio Morricone’s Forum Studios in Rome.
