Arcade Fire To Release New Album in October

Canadian indie band Arcade Fire have confirmed they will released their follow-up to 2010's The Suburbs and yet untitled fourth studio album on October 29th.

The news was revealed on the band’s Twitter account in response to a fan who tweeted, "you're my favorite."

The response was accompanied with the picture you can see on the right, and as the band later explained: “the structure burning in the band photo is the Montreal Biosphere, which incidentally caught fire on May 20th, 1976.”

According to reports, for this new album, the band is working with longtime friend DFA-label chief and former head of LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy

Arcade Fire Working On New Album With LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy

Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire are currently quite busy in the making of their yet untitled fourth studio album. The follow-up to their 2010's 'The Suburbs' might be released in late 2013, but details are still to follow.

For this new album, the band is working with longtime friend DFA-label chief and former head of LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy. DFA Records' New York City studio Twitter account tweeted yesterday:

“Arcade Fire STILL with us at DFA… This is going to be one great sounding album!”

Arcade Fire Working "Full Time" On New Album

Arcade Fire drummer Jeremy Gara has given an update on the progress of the band's new album.

Gara told Canadian radio station that for the follow-up to 2010's 'The Suburbs' they had to leave their old church based studio, as the roof collapsed. However, they now have a new space where they are working 'full-time'.

"Now we’re in the studio pretty much full time just doing what we do and we kind of shut the door," Gara told.

"We haven’t really gone out and done anything in over a year now. We haven’t done photos or interviews or anything. We’re just working on music and growing beards and living at home a lot and going out to dinner together."

"We are under no pressure from record labels or management or whatever to do anything on any sort of schedule. We’re just working. We have no deadlines. It’s kind of coming along." He added.

We'll keep you updated.
