Norwegian indie pop/alt band Divest have aired their new single "Speed Of Light".

The song is taken from their forthcoming new EP 'Moments of Ease', set to be released on January 28 2022 via Norwegian independent label Sellout! Music. Grab it here

This is what the band has to say about Speed of Light: 

“Speed of Light started off with a piano part that has been with us since the early days. When you´ve been doing instrumental jams on a thing like that for so many years, it feels impossible to make it into a song. After listening to the album “After Hours” by The Weeknd, I felt inspired to reunite with the hook, and compose something completely different then I am used to. By placing a melody that probably should be slow, into a faster paced song you get this feeling off urgency, and that goes pretty well with the lyrics, I think. The song is all about the feeling of life evolving and progressing in such a rapid tempo that you, and you sort of just have to hang on and see what happens. “

New Entry: Divest Release New Single "Passing Through"

Norwegian indie pop/alt band Divest have released their new single "Passing Through".

The song is out now via Sellout! Music. 

The band's words: “We had a lot of fun with this one in the studio. Hansa sent me an iPhone recording where he hammers through the whole song on the piano in a stream of consciousness. The structure, chords and vocal melody was there from the very beginning, and so it was for us to arrange and record it. We actually sampled the piano from he's iPhone recording and ended up using it in the final version. He wrote “Passing Through” for his girlfriend three years ago when she moved to another city to study, she’s almost finished now..”

The song is taken from their debut EP ‘No Hits Only Hats’, which come out tomorrow (May 24) via Sellout! Music. 

From the band: “There is something with a really fuzzy guitar riff that can resemble those brass sections you find in 60s RnB. This is something we tried to work with on ‘Screenshot.’ Lyricwise the song is about the alienation that comes with social media and living in the 21st. century.”
