Courting Reveal New Single/Video "Famous"

Liverpool post punk band Courting have revealed the video for their new single "Famous".

The song is part of our current playlist and is taken from their debut album 'Guitar Music', out today,  September 23 via Play It Again Sam. Grab your copy here.

Going on to speak on the album Murphy-O’Neill said: “Guitar Music is the opposite of our early releases in that it is very emotional. The stories told may be from the perspective of other characters at times, but these songs are always filled with actual feelings. We're no longer trying to hide that.

We felt that Guitar Music as a phrase was reductive and therefore decided to create a record with the intention of it being a body of work that could redeem being a “guitar band”, by pushing it to different boundaries. To us, this record is a statement piece, it felt very exciting to make, to us, it feels a lot more special than we’d originally expected it would be.”

Guitar Music is realising you actually love the music you hated when you were 13. It is lip fillers and being thousands of pounds in debt. It is missing mundane things about your childhood and mourning celebrities you were only aware of posthumously. It is dancing with your friends. It is falling in love with a drawing and it is always online. It is touching toes in bed, hearts carved into trees. It is swimming outside and listening to pop smoke. It is fireworks over family parks and

Watch: Courting Unleash Music Video For "Tennis"

Liverpool post punk band Courting have unleashed the video for their latest single "Tennis".

The song, produced by GRAMMY-nominated James Dring (Gorillaz, Jamie T, Sorry, Lana Del Rey, Blur, Loyle Carner) is part of our current playlist and came out earlier this month through Nice Swan Records. Grab it  here.

Speaking about it, the band explained: “Tennis is a paypig’s personal redemption narrative, set in “the city”, and told in two parts. A twisted tale of two lovers’ back and forth, bound by cricket, bodybuilding, and money. A story as old as time.

We named the song Tennis as a logical (but unrelated) sequel to our two previously released sports-related songs. To us, this felt like a natural ending to that idea. Dynamically, the second part of the song is supposed to represent a shift in tone for the character in which they realise their own worth and leave the situation that is set within the first part of the song.”

New Entry: Courting Unveil New Single "David Byrne's Badside"

Liverpool post punk band Courting have unveiled their new single "David Byrne's Badside".

The song is out today (May 15) via Nice Swan Records, from the label' series ‘Nice Swan Introduces…’.

Lead singer and guitarist Sean, says: “David Byrne’s Badside has nothing to do with the Talking Heads frontman. It’s about class tourism and the casual racism that exists in Britain today. It’s a portrait of the type of person who votes UKIP and wants to close our borders yet promises they’re not a racist. The type of person who says to buy British yet owns a Porsche.”
