Watch: Ghost//Signals Drop "I Beat My Demons Via Decision" Music Video

Newcastle-based indie/dark pop band Ghost//Signals have dropped the video for their latest single " I Beat My Demons Via Decision".

The song is part of our current playlist and isa taken from their album 'Lives Defined by Winter Skies', released in February this year via Swiss Dark Nights. Buy it here.

The band's goth inflected live performances have won them many plaudits blending classic Smiths riffs and charming melodic interludes with fiendishly twisted but sharp-witted lyrics and has led to support slots with the likes of My Vitriol, Chameleons Vox, ACTORS, Avalanche Party & Press Club; but it is their recorded output that conjures a wealth of influences from The Cure to The Futureheads.

From the band: “The song is essentially an account of having your own issues/mental health problems, but other people assuming themselves that they have the quick fix answers – or that you’re fully ‘healed’ because it suits their narrative/motivations. Much like in boxing/competitive fighting, you can win via a judge decision, but the other fighter might still be completely standing upright, and will come for you another day.”

Watch: L'objectif Unveil New Single/Video "Feeling Down"

Leeds indie rock band L'objectif have unveiled their new single "Feeling Down" and its accompanying video.

The song is out today (May 3) and is taken from their forthcoming EP 'We Aren’t Getting Out but Tonight We Might', set to arrive on July 29 through Chess Club Records. Pre-order it here.

L'Objectif are schoolmates Saul Kane (vocals, guitar) and Louis Bullock (drums) - who first formed a band together at the age of 12 - Ezra Glennon (bass) and Dan Richardson (guitar). With each member picking up instruments as children, the young friends - none of whom are over the age of 18 - have a shared love of genres and musicians that belies their tender age: jazz funk, hip-hop, punk, post-punk, and almost everything in between. Also inspired by painters Basquiat and Francis Bacon, L’Objectif seek excitement in the intellectually stimulating and subjective; finding thrill in the confusion.

Frontman Saul Kane says: “'Feeling Down' reflects the personal side to a relationship. Regrets, inner thoughts and self depreciation. It’s kind of a retelling of events through quite a melancholy lens.”
