Watch: U2 Unleash Visuals For New Song "The Blackout"

U2 have unleashed a black-and-white video for their energetic new track "The Blackout" via their Facebook page.

The song is taken from their forthcoming new album  'Songs of Experience'. The album follows 2014's Grammy-nominated album, Songs of Innocence.

The band have also said that they will release the album’s first official single, “You’re the Best Thing About Me,” on September 6.

Watch: U2 Release Short Film For "Every Breaking Wave"

Irish rock group U2 have released a short film directed by Aoife McArdle, for their latest single "Every Breaking Wave".

Set on the streets early 80s Northern Ireland, Every Breaking Wave is built around themes of emotional abandon and the uncertainty of romantic relationships. It follows two teenagers who fall in love amidst ongoing violence. 

The short film's emotional core is centered around "Every Breaking Wave" and "The Troubles," two tracks drawn from U2's most recent album 'Songs of Innocence'.

U2 Release New Album 'Songs of Innocence' For Free

U2 have announced and released their brand new album titled 'Songs of Innocence' today.

The album features 11 new tracks and will be properly released by Island Records on 13th October, but you don't have to wait because i'ts available for free on iTunes.

According to the press release: 

'Songs of Innocence’ as “U2’s most personal work to date, charting the band’s earliest influences from 70s rock and punk rock to early 80s electronica and ambient music and giving insight into how and why the band came together. The album deals with themes of home and family, relationships and discovery and was recorded in Dublin, London, New York and Los Angeles and is produced by Danger Mouse, along with Paul Epworth, Ryan Tedder, Declan Gaffney and Flood.”

A double white-vinyl LP will also be available.

Bono: U2 Have To Do ‘Something Very Special’ With New Album

Bono has claimed that U2's latest recording sessions have been among the band's best ever.

In an interview with an Irish TV programme, the U2 frontman revealed that the band have had 'the best three weeks in the studio since 1979', as work begins on the follow-up to 2009's 'No Line On The Horizon' album.

Bono and his bandmates are well aware of the need to produce 'something very special' with their thirteenth studio effort. 

"I think they are very aware that U2 have to do something very special to have a reason to exist right now," he said.

The band were the highest-grossing touring act last year and were estimated to have earned $231.9m (£150.1m) for their 34-date 360° tour since January 1, 2011, drawing in a total of 2,387,535 fans.
