Stevie Nicks Announces New Album '24 Karat Gold'

Despite working on a new record with Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks has announced the release of a new solo album, tentatively titled 24 Karat Gold: Songs From the Vault.

The LP will feature reworked versions of previously unreleased material. All of the tracks that she has worked on over the years will be especially re-recorded or the new release, with Nicks working with Dave Stewart and Waddy Watchel on production duties.

Nicks says that she just recorded "18 tracks in three weeks" for the album -- saying that it's the "fastest I have ever recorded."

"We found all the songs that, somehow, were taken from my house or picked up or loaned out or whatever… and we went to Nashville (and recorded them). So they’re like all starting from like 1969 maybe? I call them my 24 Karat Gold songs." She told the Associated Press.

The album is tentatively scheduled to arrive in October via Reprise/Warner Bros. Listen to the 24 Karat Gold bootleg by Stevie Nicks below.

Watch: Fleetwood Mac Announce New EP, Debut New Song 'Sad Angel' Live

Fleetwood Mac have plans to release an EP of new songs in the near future.

The group's lead singer and guitarist, Lindsey Buckingham announced to a Philadelphia crowd last Saturday, that they've been working on new songs in the studio and will release an EP of new material "in a few days". It is "the best stuff Fleetwood Mac have done in a long time" he said.

Buckingham always mentioned that Fleetwood Mac has recorded a "whole bunch of stuff" that the band is unsure what to do with at the present time – sounds like a full-length follow-up to 2003s Say You Will could be in the works.

Once Buckingham was done sharing the good news, Fleetwood Mac then proceeded to perform one of the new songs from the EP, titled "Sad Angel". Watch their performance below.

In related news, key member Christine McVie has been absent from the Mac's live show for a while, but she recently told UK’s Metro that she'd be interested in returning to perform with the band:

"If they wanted me to, I might pop back on stage when they’re in London just to do a little duet or something like that."

Fleetwood Mac Confirm Reunion Tour For 2013

Stevie Nicks has confirmed that Fleetwood Mac are to return to the stage for a 2013 reunion tour.

Speaking to ABC News, Nicks said: "We go into rehearsals somewhere around the end of February. So... if everything goes to plan, we should probably be out (on the road) by end of April or May, I would think."

Nicks added that the reunited group are working on new music, though nothing is officially confirmed yet. "Well, actually, maybe like two songs, maybe four, who knows? We don't really know yet 'cos we're not in the world of Fleetwood Mac yet. We're just still in talks about that."

They are also one of a number of names rumoured to be headlining Glastonbury when the festival returns.

Emily Eavis, the festival organiser has said in the past, "I think Fleetwood Mac would be amazing to get, I’ll be totally honest we haven’t had any conversations with them yet but, you know it is still early days. We’re just talking to some headliners now. For us it’s about getting the balance of heritage bands, legends and new bands – just keeping that balance."
