New Entry: Bodega Premiere New Single "Knife On The Platter"

New York art-rock/punk band Bodega have premiered their new single "Knife On The Platter".

"l was imagining a top notch Gena-Rowlands-esque actress who is cast in a mediocre gothic who nonetheless elevates the script's schlocky material through her absolute commitment to authentically live each moment of the play. She performs as if the gods are watching - she 'acts' as if each gesture will be set in stone for the future to see. That's a show business trick ----> when performing imagine your heroes are in the room. You will no longer mess around. Twice in the song Zeus responds via the lightning striking from Madison's guitar. That's the thing: even when you are totally alone and lost ---> someone is (or will always be) watching your actions. Chose wisely".

Bodega Announce 'Shiny New Model' EP, Drop Video For Title Track

New York art-rock/punk band Bodega have announced the release of their new mini LP 'Shiny New Model'.

The 8-track EP follows on from their 2018's debut album 'Endless Scroll', and will be out on October 11 through What's Your Rupture?. Grab your copy here.

The record covers various thematic ground: history alive in the present, the sadness of modern consumption, adultery via sexting, and a song set inside an actual bodega (Shiny New Model). In addition to the breezy hook-filled songs, the vinyl and CD feature an extended improvised version of the group’s staple track Truth Is Not Punishment. The band has been using this song as a vehicle for live improvisation for a year and decided to use a day of the session to experiment with capturing the song’s new, extended boundaries in the studio.
