Watch: Warpaint Share "Paralysed" (Gang of Four cover) Lyric Video

L.A. indie rockers Warpaint have shared a lyric video for their cover version of Gang of Four's "Paralysed".

The cover features on the tribute album The Problem of Leisure: A Celebration of Andy Gill and Gang of Four, a compilation in honor of the late guitarist, out on May 14th. Get it here.

The song originally features on the post-punk pioneers' 1981 album, Solid Gold.

Warpaint’s Jenny Lee, who produced her group’s version of “Paralysed,” explained in a statement: “’The change will do me good.’ (Damaged Goods). Best piece of advice that pretty much changed my life. Not to mention Dave Allen’s bass playing also changed me forever. Made me wanna play bass."

“It was cool to get inside of ‘Paralysed,’ and for Gang Of Four to give us freedom to freak out in our way… it was a beautiful opportunity and we’re SOOO excited,” she furthered. “It’s an honor actually to be a part of Andy’s tribute.”

Scottish dreamy rock n' roll band Shambolics have shared the video for their new single "Love Collides".

The song is out today (October 2) via Creation23.  Buy it here. 

“Love is colliding but we can keep it together," the band's Darren Forbes said of the new track. Explaining its cathartic journey, he added: “the track contrasts between minor key and lyrics about how everything is breaking and then opens up in the chorus in a major key with optimistic lyrics."

New Entry: Triptides Drop Two New Songs "Latitudes" & "Cassius"

Los Angeles-based psychedelic/dream rock band Triptides have dropped their new single "Latitudes", and b-side "Cassius".

Triptides frontman Glenn Brigman says: “When SXSW was cancelled, it was just our first instinct to retreat and make the most out of our time together. We went out to Joshua Tree, set up in a house we rented and spent three days with our heads down recording. Every time we looked up, the world was different. For the first time, we were creating music in a time when we had no idea what was becoming of our society and our world. A few days after we got back to L.A., they started announcing the lockdown.”

“both tracks dance around the desire to find new beginnings in the unknown – a theme that will no doubt resonate with listeners during this unique moment in time."

“We all tread the ground between the search for comfort and the challenge to grow, and how you perceive your environment has so much to do with that balance,” Brigman shared. “We’re finding now, and what these songs express, is that even if we’ve surrounded ourselves with beauty – even on an idyllic island – that nothing is easy, nothing is final, and we must always seek to find our own path.”

Watch: Thyla Unveil Music Video For "Lenox Hill"

Brighton guitar pop/alt/psych band Thyla have unveiled the video for their latest single "Lenox Hill".

The song is part of our current playlist and is taken from their forthcoming second EP 'Everything At Once', which will be out on January 24, 2020.

Speaking about it, frontwoman Millie Duthie explained: "Lenox Hill is the hospital I was born in, with the track inspired by my early years as a kid living in New York City. It’s an honest and emotional coming-of-age tale. Life can take so many turns and you can forget where you came from and what makes you you. The important stuff like family can get set aside in the pursuit of whatever it is that drives you. Lenox Hill is about realising you’re lost and deciding to go back to your roots to find the way again."

The video was directed and produced by the band.

Brighton guitar pop/alt/psych band Thyla have shared their cover version of The Waitresses’ classic "Christmas Wrapping".

The song was originally released in 1981 via ZE records. Speaking of the cover, the band say: “A lot of our music is inspired by the post punk/new wave era. The original song is Millie’s favourite Christmas tune so we thought it would be cool to get in the festive spirit and do a cheeky cover. We recorded it ourselves in Mitch’s shed so we’re pretty chuffed with the results”.

They're inspired by the best guitar based music from the 50s onwards. Taking influence from all sorts of genres we base ourselves on 1960's phsycedelia,1970's harmonies, 1980's clean guitar chimes and 1990's melodic anthems.
