Child Seat Unveil New Single/Video "Off With a Bang"

Los Angeles indie pop/rock duo Child Seat, made up of Madeleine Mathews (MAWD) and Josiah Mazzaschi (Light FM, Bizou), have unveiled their new single "Off With a Bang", and its accompanying music video.

The song is out today (July 14) now via Moonboot! Records and is taken from their forthcoming debut album set for release on August 5th. Get it here.

“I was stuck in an emotional destructive cycle of manipulation (many times in life) and the other person painted me as the bad guy to all of the people around them to make themselves feel/look better,” Mathews explains. “Though the things they said weren’t true. It’s not until I realized I wasn’t the problem, that I felt truly empowered. When I finally saw that I’d been fed poison/lies all along, it completely altered my perception of the person and situation. It created a new sense of self-wort and that definitely comes with being naive and going through growing pains of life.

“After pulling the wool from my eyes, I felt empowered and though its a bit exaggerated, I took on this idea of wanting to be a femme fatale – seeking revenge. Not actually through violence, but through continuing to be successful in life, love, and leaving the shitty people behind.”

Watch: Child Seat Premiere New Single/Video "Burning"

Los Angeles indie pop/rock duo Child Seat, made up of Madeleine Mathews (MAWD) and Josiah Mazzaschi (Light FM, Bizou), have premiered their new single "Burning", and its accompanying music video ft. Jeff Schroeder.

The song is out today (May 18) now via Moonboot! Records and is taken from their forthcoming debut album set for release this Autumn, we have already heard the fist taste "Fever Dream". Get it here.

From the duo: ““Burning” refers to the 2021 Caldor wildfire that threatened Mathews’ hometown and wiped-out hundreds of thousands of acres of land that she’d hiked and traversed throughout her youth as well as a small nearby town. “Burning” is a reminder that life throws us curveballs, including losing the things we love most. Nothing is set in stone, and nothing lasts forever."

Watch: Child Seat Share Debut Single/Video "Fever Dream"

Los Angeles indie pop/rock duo Child Seat, made up of Madeleine Mathews (MAWD) and Josiah Mazzaschi (Light FM, Bizou), have shared their debut single "Fever Dream", and its accompanying music video.

The song is out today (March 25) now via Moonboot! Records and is taken from their forthcoming debut album set for release this Autumn. Get it here.

“Building off the description of a fever dream is, the song touches on being stuck in “the in between” phase in life and love. A lot of inspiration was pulled from the sudden change of the pandemic and its effect on both life/love. In life, we were forced to stay put and rearrange our hopes/dreams/aspirations. In love, our relationships changed – we had to adapt to this new way of living, and living with our partner,” says the band.

“Reflecting on how things used to be, but now you’re caught in a “fever dream” of this weird phase of life and that feeling that grass was always greener/nostalgia for better times.

Of course, this can happen without the Pandmeic, but a lot of the album is a reflection on how much this era has changed us as humans.”
